((I don't know about the rest, but I haven't been reading the on-ship thread at all. A description of what awaits us will help me adjust to whatever mess happened while we were gone.))

I'd like to see a nice descriptive piece where we roll in, get congratulated by Steve for not fucking up, and then come inside to see a pile of battered and confused people with unusual shit everywhere.

I'd choose for an IC debrief, if you can spare the time. preferably in this thread, so it's easier to find back later.

Personally, I'd take a neat IC debrief later (after M16 and 18 finish since they're priority) than a quick "k you're on ship now" OOC debrief now.

((I'd also ask for a nice IC debrief now if possible, although in the on-ship thread, of course. This thread is planetside.
One has to behold the glorious traditions of the 'Corps, right? And maybe rather not let the convicts loose before they've been appropriately praised scolded for the completed mission. They might maim or kill themselves in the meantime.

Of course, as long as that does not detriment from M16/M18 progress. In that case I'd suspect the whole on-ship thread might be worth suspending for now as well. ))

Hey nik, have you ever tried to find the debrief (or mission briefing, for that matter) for a specific mission in the ship thread months later? It's a bit of a hassle, so I'd really ask to do it here for future convenience.

Or just toss a link to both in here nicely at the end before locking it?

((... But... but... our forebearers never did so, so we should not either!..
Seriously though, there are other ways of solving the problem. Adding [BRIEFING] & [DEBRIEFING] tags, linking mission thread to briefing/debriefing post as Toaster suggested, etc. I mean, (de)briefings held on ship is something that has gone on ever since the very beginning, and if it were moved out of the ship thread, there'd probably be no more use for briefing room there (not to mention that it neglects the simultaneity/connection aspect of that - by being in a different thread this introduces the possibility of simultaneously doing something else in the ship thread and takes away the possibility of actually encountering (de)briefing while spending time in the briefing room).
So please, maybe we shouldn't fix what ain't broken and don't introduce such drastic changes?

Though yes, I agree that keeping things the old way means it is a bit confusing to read the old missions.))

Every briefing and debriefing is linked to on this wiki page, as well as on each individual mission's page, in case anyone didn't know.

Except mission 12. But that one didn't have proper debriefing anyways.

((Popping in to say that I agree with putting the debriefing here.  Even if the on-ship version would be linked from the wiki, keeping everything related to the mission in the mission thread seems nice.  It's nice when (re)reading through the thread.

Also, if it's on on-ship, wouldn't the debrief be affixed to the bottom of a normal on-ship post?  That makes it a little more annoying when searching for something said in the briefing, and ruins the atmosphere somewhat.))

After a strangely long wait between shuttles, during which time the team a basically just sits around or throws rocks into the dust clouded crater where the base used to be, the evac shuttle arrives. Or evac shuttles, actually, considering Miya and Flint's considerable girth. The take off goes without incident and soon the shuttles are climbing through the upper reaches of the atmosphere. As the sound of the engines fades away, lost to the vacuum, the cabin speakers kick on.

>Good job everyone. Ties established successfully and only minor injuries sustained in the process. Well, except for jim, of course. But we'll make sure he's well taken care of.  Not a lot to say about this one, honestly. Things went off basically without a hitch and there were no real solid guidelines other than completing the objectives, which you did. You even managed not to turn a simple social gathering into a firefight, which was more then I expected, honestly. I'll tell you what, lets give you all 6 tokens and then I'll let miya divy up jim's 6 tokens to whoever needs them.

You guys have any questions or feedback here?

Brother Lars bowed his head as Steve spoke.  When his turn came to speak, he raised his arms above his head.  "We only ask for a safe recovery for General Jim, and if it is his time to pass, guide his soul into your loving embrace.  Amen."
