Can I be dwarfed as Libitina? A female slum mason/engraver? Or whatever we are using for tombs...
Libitina the gravekeeper.

I would like to be dwarfed, if at all possible.

Saint the Laborer.  Miner/Mason/Architect.
Works to build/carve out the ever-growing slums that house the lower-class dwarves.

What happens if someone in the Slums gets a Mood? Are they still to be restricted by the burrows/doors, or do those not stop them?

They are, to an extant.

Not sure if dying of old age is an honor or a shame for weaponmasters. On the one hand, it means they never got the opportunity to die in glorious battle. On the other hand, it means nothing could beat them in glorious battle.

Then they pay beg the guard for temporary access. I'm sure they'll come up with reasonable prices. Of course if the mountain lords were to pay even more, there would be nothing they could do, maybe that's something the resistance would like to handle.

No metal or gem based moods shall be permitted under my reign.

Violators will be put in the stocks as a warning to others who may think it is within their caste to be posessed by an anchient legendary metalsmith.

Are you letting the rabble CHOOSE to be peasantry?  I do believe I have found the first conspirator!

I have my eye on you, you so called "hero of the people."

Nickname: Doc Timeless
Profession: Gentledwarf Adventurer!

Please add me as the next male migrant to grace the fortress and induct me into one of the dagger and crossbow wielding squads.  Daggers are for eating, but they can also be really REALLY effective as bayonets too. Here's a thought: have everydwarf in the slums be part of a squad that trains all the time, but only 3 AT A TIME.  3/10 always training means that 7/10 are doing other stuff like digging, farming, ect...  We could style it after the Chinese fighting movie model where everyone has their own style of "kung fu".  Every squad would be a gang, and the random names of each squad would be their "kung fu style".  The Nobles, of course, would both respect and fear the few "Kung Fu Masters" and maybe make presents of metal weapons or decorated leather armors to appease one faction or another...

Can you dwarf me please? Skulls the captain of the guard, a slum dwarf tasked with cracking the heads of those the aristocracy deem to be rule breakers (read: mandate breakers). Gets the first pick of goblinite, fancy (for the slum) house, and a squad of dubious enforcers. Also the target of  slum hatred and seen as a symbol of the oppressive aristocracy. First to be executed in the glorious revolution, of course.

The slums... They're going to just be one large militia at this rate!

If my character has anything to say about it, the size of that militia will be reduced with each mandate that's passed ;) besides, while all the players obviously want to be heroes or villains or other characters of influence, the vast majority of the immigrants and slum-born dwarves get no such choice.

I think it's adorable that the peasantry assume I would allow them anything but elven play weapons.
