Old age? Nonsense! You must search high and low for the cause of this "peacefully" and cover it in magma! It is the dwarven way!

Take random dwarves into "interrogation rooms" with magma and a black guy.

How old is your world and your fort? Since the initial turkey just died, it shouldn't be an old fort.

I've never have a dwarf living long enough to die of old age.

with the 'new' way of mostly historical figures as migrants, some would arrive at a ripe old age and die a few years later at your fort. It really pissed me off one time when I got a highly skilled weapon smith as a migrant who dropped dead a year or two later.

I've reached my 6:th winter now, so the death occurred at the 5 year mark. Sorting the dwarves in age order in Dwarf Therapist shows there are a few dwarves eligible for spontaneous croaking. The world is the standard 250 years old. The dead one has been replaced by a baby, so I'm back at the full count (I think) of 220. It's a fair number of years until any of the children grow up, however (one has grown up, but that's it for a while).

Hee hee, yeah. It's so weird how the game calculates age on a yearly basis, so now I've suddenly got sections of my population kneeling over at the arrival of spring. Kinda makes it a bit depressing, considering spring is usually celebrated for giving birth to new lift.

But death comes before birth. Only in Dwarf Fortress.

Certainly gives a new meaning to "spring cleaning."
