Anything you ever want.

Dragon corpses, bear corpses, socks, globs of water, your own blood. Arrows and bolts aren't bad.

Of course the best throwing material is *large serrated steel discs* but you don't have many laying around.

I remember this one time when I killed a giraffe with a pike. I then went on to use that same giraffe as my primary weapon.
