Now if I can only figure out how to layer images in twine...
This thread may help. From what I understand, you could make each image a separate CSS class and have their position as absolute so that they appear in the same location even if there's something already below them. Though that seems rather complicated and I don't know much CSS.

EDIT: This should do the trick!

Thats certainly what I'm looking to do, so it's good to know it exists and is possible.

Now if I could only decipher these moon runes you've given me.

YES!

This may not seem like much, but it opens the way to something interesting.

Images randomly constructed from modules? Damn, the generators just keep on getting more and more impressive.

So the system I have is generating...some good symbols but not enough for me to consider it acceptable. Gonna have to go back in and redo the modules and the generation process to make it work better.

You need a program called Twine to open and run them. When it's done, he'll probably post the .html version.

Hey, when you're caught up, or if it takes your interest, could you add a robotic conversion system to the automorphica? Something where the base creature has one or more mechanical "themes" applied to it, where each theme would be a separate run through the generator, giving structural materials, power source, design principles, etc. So you could make a creature, generate a robotic template for it, and then add a mutation set and roll up a separate template for the mutations to do a robot that was damaged and repaired with nonstandard components. Or, you could just roll it after the mutation to get an easy cyborg generator.

Well, food for thought, at least. Quite an impressive spread already.

Those aren't finished, they're just unfinished twine projects sitting in the file.

I could do something...sort of like that maybe. But honestly, I'll probably not mess with automorphica. First because it was designed as an automated version of a preexisting thing.

Second, because it is a goddamn nightmare.
