Collecting cave spider silk

Road and wall/etc. construction jobs use two skill-free labor settings now, since skill didn't matter for constructions anyway.

Since the job rewrite is happening as we speak, I'd like to suggest to separate the collecting of silk to be separated from weaving silk similarly. The same reasons apply as for the separation of building walls/masonry, but in addition collecting silk is dangerous, and I would rather not turn my legendary weavers into cave crocodile bait.

I like the idea of separating the labor setting but I feel like a master weaver should be able to do a better job havesting silk and that thus silk harvesting should work with the weaving skill like plant harvesting does.

I believe clay/sand collection is separate from pottery/glassmaking.  I can't imagine that spelunking into the wild caverns to safely snatch up globs of spider silk has much in common with actually weaving the stuff into cloth anyways.

I feel like some guy who trained for years would be better at getting it intact than a peasant

Yes... but what part of WEAVING the threads into cloth helps you nab up the silk in the middle of a monster filled cavern? Weaving is about separating the strands and then carefully threading them over themselves to form a sheet of cloth.  Scooping the threads off the floor (or gobbing them up onto a stick) is mostly spotting the threads in some forgotten nook of the lightless caverns, then avoid being eaten by the giant cave spider on hte way back.

Collecting silk has as much to do with weaving as farming pig tails IMO...

Well I hope there is a warning system.
It is the forgotten beast warning, but the player/overseer can customize the conditions.
For example, when certain kinds of creatures enter zone #13, announce it OR pause the game.

Warning: a GCS has made its way into zone #13 (collect silk).
