Make Elven weapons and armor stronger?

I'm kind of curious if this is at all possible? I know the use 'grown' weapons and armor, so would it be possible to make their grown weapons and armor as strong as, say, iron?

There are interactions as well.  Id report quite a bit of success in making them stronger in fortress mode or you playing as an adventurer.


I don't use all of them currently, but the animal growth, the terrify, and the curse ones work well, and the ai uses them.

In my mod Elves are pretty badass, because I gave them better weapons, fancy animals and mithril (same strength as steel, but extremely light), so they now come fully equipped in good metal, move fast, hit hard, and have war beasts that fight with them. No interactions though.

So I finally got around to trying to make my own tree and... I'm not sure what i'm doing. I've modded animals before, but trees are quite a bit different. How would I go about giving a tree the properties of, say, steel? Or maybe even a little better than steel. Any help/advice is appreciated ^.^

You'd have to define a material for it, in a separate raw file. Also keep in mind that elves won't necessarily make their weapons out of this 'superior' tree, they'll still select randomly from every type of wood available to them. There's no way to restrict them to use only one particular wood.

Isn't there something like [USE_GOOD_PLANTS]? Just make your steel tree a good plant, if that's the case. I've bought sun berries off of elves.  And grown feather wood barrels. So I think that should work.
