All right...an abbreviated list of people who have recently asked for turns:

Blackops35 (declined)
WorkingOgretime (declined)
maxcat61 (next?)
Chaoseed (I mistakenly thought the turn list was empty but whatever)
Snail555
Blackops35 (who asked to "take a turn later" so they go on the bottom of the list I guess?)

Which means Maxcat is up again. (Feel free to correct me if I missed anyone.)

Here's the save. (As seen here.)

I'm on it: expect more on this post.

Ok: Who messed up my A-Team! I had set it up so only legendary steel clad dwarfs were part of the A-Team, but someone decided to draft random soldiers into it.
On the other hand, there is something to be said about a squad full of swords-masters.
I also appreciate outfitting me with a Masterwork Adamantine Axe.
Next thing: Where are all the craftsdwarf's workshops?

The purple overseer hat weights heavily on one's head. Some would argue that the leadership of Doomforest is uneasy to bear for too long. Others would simply suggest that we don't craft the next overseer hat out of rutile.

Nice to see that these coins are still around.
After looking around a bit, I have decided upon my goals for this year.

1) Finish my Magma Pump
2) Mine out more of the Blue Stuff.
3) ???
4) Profit

It shouldn't be that hard. After all, what could go wrong?

Edit:
The FPS: Oh the FPS. I am contemplating One of these to deal with the lag: http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2014:Losing#Winning Specifically number 5, 6, or the last one.

Edit 2:
I have made my final choice: after training, preparing, and using lots of wooden spikes, I will attempt to do what only 1 succession fort has ever succeeded in doing: Digging too deep. Of course, I will have backup plans in case all 60 dwarfs in the militia are horribly killed.

You have discovered an eerie cavern. The air above the dark stone floor is alive with vortices of purple light and dark, boiling clouds. Seemingly bottomless glowing pits mark the surface.

Horrifying screams come from the darkness below!

The fort is undergoing a monumental undertaking. Hordes of Dwarfs are hauling spikes, while the militia is undergoing extreme training, specifically, learning how to swim. I will post pictures tomorrow, but I expect that I can make every military dwarf in the fort into Legendary Bad-ass Barrels of Muscles.

Yeah...the fps. Near the end of my turn, it dropped from around an (acceptable) 18 to a (rediculously low) 6. I was hoping that it was just because I was playing it on my crappy laptop, but I guess it really is that bad.  I would also recommend getting rid of some food, considering we have over 10000 finished meals alone.

As it turns out, pulling every lever in the fortress wasn't as good of an idea as it sounded like at the time.

Most of the preparations are done. The bottleneck is Mechanics, as there are about 60 sets of mechanisms that need to be hooked up to finish preparations. Here is the entrance, now with more bridges and some walls.

The danger room is almost complete, and the Swimming Pool just needs to have the pump finished. Uninvited Guests can't dive more the 2 z levels of water, right?

I struck Goblanite today: none of my "miners" were hurt. There were only 8 "pieces of ore".

Summer has finally arrived. Skia has proven to be an invalueable member of the fort, due to being a legendary metalsmith AND weaponsmith. The militia is arming with Candy, CARP training has proven to be successful. As said before, the bottleneck on preparations is the Mechanics. Other then that, a Jeweler made a Wax Opal Door. It is shiny. I am constructing myself a tomb, and creating some obsidian to make swords out of.

Can I get a status update on my dorf? I haven't randomly died in some offscreen catastrophe, have I?

Upon reflection, I realize that Magma-duct #2 will either work fine, or flood the area that the militia trains.
Go out there and make those 12 children of yours proud... or I'll draft all of them and send a giant ball of your progeny at the enemy if you die. Fun for the whole family!
