Laziest design you ever made?

Such as, mine out one entire floor and build everything there, dump all stones and logs into one tile quantum stockpile.

Smoothing the floor eh, that doesn't look very lazy.

One time I accidentally flooded everything below river-level in my fort. It was a cistern project gone wrong and a lot of dwarfs drowned.

The only remaining entrance to the drowned section was through a lone down-stair in my main hallway, so I built a well over it and threw some slabs in the corner. Problem solved!

LOL, without rooms and beds?

Smoothing the floor eh, that doesn't look very lazy.!
Yeah, that is easy to do, just select an area.
I need to train some engravers to satisfied the nobles. Otherwise I need to make more furnitures to increase their rooms' value.

Yeah. It's workable, provided you get farms setup.

I don't usually go lazy, but I remember my best one was when I was still learning...
"Oh, this is game is very complex... Dwarves need rooms to sleep... And I must build those workshops for them to cook and eat... Wait, they can sleep on the ground too? And I can make workshops anywhere I want? Screw that digging stuff, I'm staying here!"
That was my first no digging fort, my second attempt at playing and I survive until the second goblin siege, since I didn't knew how to equip dwarves nor how to make weapons,  so my military were a bunch of bearded mud wrestlers.

So, when I first started playing, I would make rooms by just doing [SHIFT] and then do a square out of those.  Even worse so, I made rooms that were 8x8's... for regular commoners!  Ha!  How unthinkable now!  Just give 'em a 2x2 place to put their crap and get out!

I embarked on an island, and only built a butcher's workshop, several statues, and a mason's workshop (which was deconstructed after enough statues had been made). It was a game where all you could do is watch less than twenty speardwarves chasing various giant bugs, bug men, and occasionally a crab.

I always do the same thing.  Hall to trade depot, big 11x11 stockpile surrounded by workshops, farms, first lower z-level with stone gets halls of 2x2 bedrooms with alternating left/right doorways.  I've only just started using more z-levels for workshops.
