Are night creatures immune to traps or not
« on: January 15, 2015, 08:07:10 am »

Hi all!

Are night creatures immune to traps or not? I caught one in the cage trap recently but I just noticed that wereelephants, for example, are immune to it.

Thanks in advance.

afaik werebeasts are trapavoid in their beast form, but you can catch them easily when they change back and try to leave the map.
Not sure if they can be stunned/webbed.

For that matter, under what circumstances might you find a night troll prowling your fortress?  Or is this just talking about vamps and weres?

Vamps and weres, I never saw night trolls in my fortresses, and I don't think it's possible right now.

I believe you can get a Night Troll in a lair on embark. At least I think I remember getting one a while ago.

That may be possible, but since I play only one mode per world I don't find lairs in my map...

Well depending on worldgen settings, lairs can be very common. In a pocket world with lots of megabeasts, you are actually pretty likely to embark on a cave by accident.

In previous versions creatures residing in their own lairs were immune to all traps even if they normally were not.
