Let's not forget relativistic speeds.

Are the years listed based on Earth Perspective or Ship Perspective?

Inputing 10.5lyr, acceleration at 0.0342g (or around 0.335m^s-2), we have 34 years on board, or 36 years on earth.

We don't really need to worry about that, anyway, considering that we are not going to have contact with earth for some time - or forever.

New idea, we only leave two people awake, they stay alone with each other for the full 38 years.  Sounds like a fool proof plan right?

I will +1 the 40 sleepers / 15 awake, 5 switched every 4 years, but we are basically asking these people to sacrifice the most productive years of their lives to set up the colony 12 in transit and 4-8 on the planet.  We should ensure that they have family members on the ark ship and will be promised pensions and positions of authority of some kind.

With that many I kinda wish we had a dedicated research lab.

Well we got my Earth Biology Bank on board so at least we can rebuild a real ecosystem if we survive.

When we get there and build up a proper home. Think positive :D.

One big Question, how Cyrosleep works with aging?

Well, they're frozen solid. I assume it slows down aging very considerably.

Just a note -we only have 5 vac suits and will have 15 people awake at all times. I'd suggest replacing one of the air tanks and the water on that cargo list with two more sets of vac suits. We could also store them in the hallways, where they could be a lot more useful than just sitting in the hold.
I would also suggest ditching the manufacturing equipment rather than the ore processor. It's only slightly smaller and it'd be easier to jury rig tools en site than build a whole new ore processor.

I would ask why fire can burn two men to death without getting hot enough to burn a book, but then I read "INEXTINGUISHABLE RUNNING KAMIKAZE RADIOACTIVE FLAMING ZOMBIE" and realized that logic, reason, and physics are all occupied with crying in the corner right now.

Why are we going for so many awake people?

Significantly yes. Then again, no long term studies have been done.

Actually no, the ore processor is easier to build than the manufacturing equipment.

-1 to dumping the manufacturing equipment

but +1 to adding more vac suits.

Update 6
January, 2050.  Peary Base, Moon.

Quote from: Orders
Delay Launch: N

Resolve critical issues :
-> Dump the ore processor

Cargo Orders :1 air 1 water 2 suits in the empty hull space, 2 advanced parts and 1 air stuffed in the hallways.

Launch preparations :
  - Crew in cryo : 40
  - Crew awake : 15
  - Cycling : cycle 15 crew every 4 years into and out of cryo sleep, each crew member should have 1 shift for 4 years aging total.

Cargo is quickly re-arranged to ensure that everything fits. An Ore Processor is left behind. Several crates of advanced parts are ordered, and stored in hallways, as well as several cylinders with highly pressurized gasses. In all the confusion leading up to the launch, a memo from the engineers about the questionable decision to store 10 spacesuits on the outside of the vessel is never noticed, and the engineers dutifully complete the duty without questioning.

As the mission's crew boards, there is only 1 more thing that needs to be taken care off. Though the flight and management of the vessel is completely automated, and only a minimum of human actions are needed for regular control, there's still a lot that can go wrong, and the flight needs to be well managed to ensure everything goes alright. As such, a crew leader will be assigned.

Crew Leader

   A) Option A Mission leader of the first, and only, manned expedition to Venus. Shown tremendous skill in improvisation and motivational ability, resulting in the successful evacuation of the habitat just immediately prior to it's complete failure in the harsh Venusian environment. However, general unfamiliarity with Ark equipment might induce problems.
         - Morale ++
         - Improvisation +
         - Maintenance  -

   B) Option B One of the most influential scientists of the last decade. Headed the research team that developed the Ark Cryo-systems  and worked on many of it's life support solutions. Is however the oldest candidate on record, and though completely healthy, age might be a problem.
         - Life Support ++
         - Engineering (Life Support)
         - Age -

   C) Option C Commander of the Lunar security forces. Unlike the old militaries of Earth, Lunar forces were geared predominantly towards disaster management, civil assistance and policing. Valuable experience should be a significant aid in resolving whatever problems the mission might encounter. Rather strong political opinions might prove divisive, however.
         - Disaster management ++
         - Security +
         - Lunar nationalist -

   D) Option D Lead Lifecycle engineer on Earth. Designed many of the self-sustained ecosystems that would be incorporated in the vaults. However, constant micromanaging, though effective, tends to get on other people's nerves.
         - Engineering (life) ++
         - Administration +
         - Mood (others)

   E) Option E Lead Engineer of the Lunar Shipyards. Very influential in building and designing the outpost vessel, and knows her inside out. Fully aware of the fact that none of the crew building the vessel will be on the Ark.
         - Maintenance ++
         - Engineering (basic) +
         - Morale (self) -

We're now leaving the pre-launch phase, and commencing the voyage. From now on, each turn takes 5 years, though if no important events happen, multiple turns will be run at once. The crew will have to deal with failures on the way, and if they're lucky, they might even find time to get some additional work done. This is the shortest and least structured part of the game, with player interaction focused mainly on write-in's and general strategy. You can assume that the crew is competent enough to deal with day to day problems.

Hmm.

A)Good leader, wrong mission.

B)Aged skilled specialist.

C)Police state.

D)Micro-manager.

E)Depressed shipbuilder.

I would go for A or E, B would be nice if we had a real research lab already set up.

Since we have so many extra people we should divide their time between learning practical engineering skill, looking over the outpost systems and creative pursuits.

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.
