A peculiar lab: 40% chance of survival and dropping.
« on: January 29, 2015, 10:36:47 pm »

You are in a large white room. There are a few doors set into the otherwise blank white walls, with signs above them advertising "Testing", "Medical" and "Supply". In front of you is a long, highly polished, steel table. Stacked on top of the table, are several objects.

To the far left are a half dozen metal cylinders, like small scuba tanks or thermoses, each with a different string of numbers on them. At the top of each of these tanks is a complex looking nozzle, with a thin spike coming out of the center.

Next to the tanks is what looks like a large metal reaction chamber; it's heavily reenforced and studded with ports that appear to be the female ends of the spiked Nozzle. It has four buttons near the base: All pale yellow, save for the last one which is red. The buttons are labeled "IN", "CON","EJ" and the red one is "V"

Next, are a dozen or so metal structures, which look something like the different tips you'd expect to see on a garden hose. They have a Female Spike Nozzle on one end, but the other end varies, with some having wide mouths, others with thin crescents, still others with odd spikes and conical satellite dish like structures.

Next to that, a few objects that look something like large, expensive camera lenses. They're about the size of a soda can, mostly metal, with a large half spherical glass lens at the end. They have a female spike nozzle on their bottoms, a single dial on one side, and a rectangular port on the other.

Next is a small metal box; this box has no nozzles, instead it has a single long cable ending in a rectangular plug coming out of one end, and a half dozen rectangular slots on the opposite end. Above each slot is a button, and above that button is a small, unlit LED.

Next  is  a pile of bright green objects, rectangular in shape, about 3 inches long, 2 wide and half an inch thick. They look like they're made of green glass filled with strange geometric patterns of clear threads or perhaps hair thin cracks. Each has a metal base with a bunch of copper pins.

Next to that, a long metal box, about a foot long, and 3 or so thick and tall. This box has a female spike nozzle on one end, and a male spike nozzle on the other end. There are several hexagonal ports on one side, each with a switch next to them, and 4 circular slots on the other side, each with a switch as well.

In a pile next to that piece are two dozen or so small glass cylinders, with metal caps on either end. These cylinders have a complex mesh of metal  wire patterns within them, as well as strange substances embedded in the wire. They vary in color and internal shape and substance.

Next, something that is about the size and shape of a hockey puck, made of metal, with a glass lens on top. It has a female Nozzle, and a wide variety of buttons and dials. In one cluster are 4 dials, arranged in a square, and colored red, blue, yellow and white.  Next, in a rectangle formation, are four dials in green, gray, purple and black. With them are two buttons, yellow and red.

Next, there are several hexogonal metal things, with a dome like central budge. They've each got a different symbol on them, but are all about the same size and all have a single cord coming out of them that ends in a rectangular plug.

Next, and last, is a pile of what appear to be braided metal hoses. These come in different lengths and some go from single hose and split into two, or three, or more somewhere along their length. Each has one end that is a male spike nozzle, and the other which is the female nozzle.  Mixed in with these are what appear to be valves of various designs. All of them have a female nozzle on one end, but their outputs and the control to open them vary. Some output with a male nozzle, others with a straight opening. Some have a lever type opening mechanism, others have a button or a trigger.

Laying in front of all this is a piece of paper. Scribbled on the paper in an exaggeratedly large script is the phrase "MAKE A WEAPON".

I wanna keep numbers low for this. It's just a test. I considered only having one person, so 5 is already pushing it for a collaborative effort.

If someone gets murdered or doesn't show up, you can have their spot.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

Well, get to it. You got everything you need there. Try to work together though.

Just reading through the parts at the moment.

Inspect the number strings on the tanks for hints as to their contents.

also begin construction:
Tank 1  ->  spike valve 1 -> Reaction chamber 1
Tank 2  ->  spike valve 2 -> Reaction chamber 1
Tank 3 ->  spike valve 3 ->  Reaction chamber 1
Tank4  ->  spike valve 4 ->  Reaction chamber 1

I'm here. Need to read stuff.

Attach a tank to the soda can. Adjust soda can dial 3/4 way to max. Attach can port to plug of nondescript box. Fill the box slots with those green rectangle things. Push all the box buttons and hope I don't die.

There are tons of numbers on the tanks.  The four you pick up at random are:

1453
587
17777
276456

You carefully screw a valve on to each of the tanks and then connect them to the reaction vessel.

The instant you get the tank affixed to the "soda can" an ear splittingly loud sound, like a fog horn played through a bullhorn played through a few stadium speakers, screams out of the lens side of the "Soda can". You hurriedly disconnect them, making note of the number on the tank: 2112.

open the first two valves.

Push IN.

I'm gonna assume the first two are the first two in that list of numbers, since that matters.

You carefully open the valves on the first two tanks. There's a hiss, like the air brakes of a semitruck, as you open them. You press the button labeled "IN" and there's a sound like suction and a metallic clink. The reaction vessel begins to hum and churn slightly, like a washing machine running slowly, laboriously through a cycle.

wait a while for the process to finish.

If nothing happens push CON.

wait a while for the process to finish.

If nothing happens push CON.

You wait a few minutes. Nothing seems to happen. So you press the CON button. The vessel hums louder and the churning becomes more aggressive, causing the entire vessel to rock and bang on the table. After 10 or so seconds, the vessel settles back into the previous, low key rhythms.
