Equipment and Attacks
« on: February 01, 2015, 03:43:53 pm »

Is there a way (using raws) to make a piece of armour etc. that can be used as an attack when worn and not when held in the hand? So you can have a 'closed hand' weapon, a la Assasin's Creed hidden blade or a katar?

On the subject of katars, do gauntlets etc. make a difference to the impact of punches?

And thus mod in various other body part attacks, e.g elbows, knees etc, given a little work?

Hmmm...

I've made a change to a weapon before that led to it being used to deflect attacks in the same way that armor is listed as doing so. I was trying to replicate shield values on there but it wouldn't use the shield part, though the armor coverage and step coverage seemed to function fine.

Won't let you wear them as gloves, but they should cover the same body parts and let you assign attacks/use the material properties like weapons.

Weapons always deflect attacks when the user has a high enough skill.

I think the message that got my attention was "but the attack glances off" actually.

...That can't happen with weapons, since weapons aren't worn.

So the armour and weapon properties are exclusive to themselves?

Yes. They are entirely separate item types, thus why they have entirely separate tokens denoting them (ITEM_ARMOR, ITEM_PANTS vs ITEM_WEAPON)

Out of curiosity, does creature attacks uses the armor worn? Like wearing steel gauntlets turns your fleshy punches into steel punches?
