Anyone see anything weird about this?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Rumors of his death were greatly exaggerated.

I'm spinning this in the "official histories" as "recorded to have been slain".  This just means that while the RNG may kill off an entire Clan in fortress mode they may still get a "Not Dead Yet! I think I'll go for a walk..." in adventure mode.  Murderpaddles Boulderslipped is a good example of this:  the birth of the kid, and his name change to "Murderpaddles" is in the history, but he's not listed in the list of dwarves under "Murderpaddles", so I'm thinking he's a kind of "Schroedinger's Dwarf" at the moment - presumed dead, but possibly not.  We'll see whether adventure mode has any inexplicable survivals happening as well...

All these bugs suck.  It's strangling the story. :(

Speaking of bugs, I tried unretiring the Tower to see if I could dig out the dwarves stuck underground.  I couldn't, and they starved to death before the first migrant wave.  I'd be unopposed if they wanted to use DFhack to get free when their turn came around, since it only seems fair to fix the bug.

Thems the breaks - these aren't bugs, they're features!  If we come across something like this, then we'll just have to come up with a viable excuse as to why this 'bug' has happened and keep on truckin.  Like an Indian tapestry, one wrong color can become the eye of an unintended peacock.

I'll post my adv log in a bit, but I deliberately avoided killing children.

Which sucked, cuz I had the opportunity to snap another branch off the Goodbrews family tree and choose not to.

EDIT: And if I have to go around and re-murder everyone all over again, I'm gonna be super ticked. >:[

I guess I was giving you too much credit: I figured you'd killed all but a couple Goodbrews to keep another Clan from getting two more years on a new Clanhome (when the RNG could do whatever it liked with you).  Having a permanently maimed Clan limp along with one or two surviving members is a much better strategy to getting the king/queenship for yourself.  Numbers-wise, a Clan hanging on by its fingertips is more likely to try to keep the remaining members alive through inter-Clan negotiations or the like then they are to go out in a flash of glory.  (Well, OK, so long as there's some Minor Clans waiting for elevation that is.  If a Major Clan can get right back into the game, then the "cathartic victory" scenario becomes quite a bit more likely.  Having to wait as a Minor Clan until one or more of the others go extinct is a pretty good reason to find a way to continue being a Major Clan for as long as you can.)

I'm loving the masterful steel clad demigod thing too.  Sounds almost like a precursor legend about Charlamagne or Uthur Pendragon, (which is awesome)

I parked him right outside the entrance to my Clanhome, too.  He's a Demigod in Masterwork Steel, so you better bring your A-game if you're going to try and bring the Saint-clan down.  Of course, I might be in trouble if someone brings a shiny blue sword to the fight. :\

I considered putting the fort into lock-down mode, so that you couldn't get inside without cheating, but that seemed a bit unfair.  I've gotta say, I was pretty impressed with the Tower and Pit's defenses.  The tower required some tricky jumping and climbing to get into the fort proper, and the Pit taught me that Stone-fall traps work on adventurers. o_o

I dunno if cage traps work.  None of the weapon traps in Tower hurt me, but I also spotted them all early on.  A sufficiently high observer trait will render traps a moot point, regardless of their effect.

Unless it's a pressure plate, I suppose.

Well then, I might have an evil idea for an anti-adventurer minecart trap then.

cage traps don't do anything in adv mode, it's as if they don't exist.
so, the sybil still resides at cagearmors.. how interesting

I left Cagearmors untouched, iirc.  I made the conscious decision to pass it by, even though it was within convenient murder-distance of Hammercrown.
