I prefer mantles to cloaks, but then I also have an insane desire to get a full titanium (with spectra laminate) vambrace and gauntlet for my left arm and carry a heavy-bit greataxe. So my sense of the appropriate is likely flawed.

I would wear one if it's reaaallly cold, but I wouldn't wear in in the centre of a city or something.

I was referring to the fact that most of the time when you picture someone in your mind with a red cloak they are about six.
