[Suggestion Game] Survive the Night

A sharp pain.

Your head is throbbing vividly. This is a new kind of pain. Concussion, not dehydration. The floor is cold and the room is unfamiliar. Moonlight streams from a small, open window high on the wall opposite the closed door. You test the handle. Locked. Half-formed thoughts swirl about in your mind, slipping away like eels as you struggle to remember.

How did you even end up here?

1) You were hiding

Something were attacking you, but you don't remember what. They were numerous. You knew that combat was out of the question the moment you were wounded. The obvious choice was to run and lock the door and hope they give up. They did, didn't they?

2) Something about a fight...

You didn't expect to be alive, that's one thing you know. Whatever you fought, they left you alive. You aren't sure if it was out of honor, or if they have a sense of humor. Let's hope it was the former.

3) Write-in

OOC: Do you control one person here or do we get to make one? If it's the former then I think it's classified as a suggestion game and thus belongs in the Forum games & roleplaying.

I could've sworn I've seen some single-player RTDs, but I'll move this anyways.

I think I've seen em too. However, unless you're drawing pictures, thread title should be [SG]

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Something about a fight...

Yes, you remember now. You are not the sort of person who run away from fights, especially not when you have nothing to lose.

This option will give you 2x Derring-do (Guarantee success on any actions), Door: Locked, and 1 progress in Uncovering The Mystery.

Are you sure this is really what happened?

You remember now. Most of it, at least. Your assailants are a blur in your memory. Was that how they originally appeared? A fog hangs over your mind, and you will have to investigate more in the matter.

First, of course, you will have to deal with the locked door.

Quote from: Rewards
... You have obtained 2 Derring-Do! These are extremely valuable and allow you to succeed in any actions that aren't outright impossible. Do not use them lightly.

... You have begun investigating "Mysterious Assailants". Your progress is now 1: Uncovering the Mystery.

... The door is locked!

-->

Locked from inside, it seems. How that even works, you have no idea. There is no obvious handle, but the keyhole on the plate looks promising. The problem is, you don't have a key. You will have to look for other ways.

1) That door looks strong.

It's made out of fine wood, and seems to be able to withstand a good beating. You could test its capabilities, if you have something to bludgeon it.

2) No key? Are you sure? (1 minute)

It's a long shot, but perhaps whoever put you here hid the key somewhere. If only you had a better source of light than the moonlight, but losers can't be choosers.

3) Who needs a key? You just have to find something small and thin. (2 minutes)

Maybe you might have a paperclip or two on you. Either way, trying to lockpick the door might prove more fruitful than risking injury, or paying more attention to that lump in the darkness.
