I really dislike the way they change arc shots. In 3U, I can land head shots with the blast arc all day every day. Now I can barely make it hit. The range is just too far especially when your trying to be at the critical zone all the time. Arc shots might as well not exist.

It counts as blunt damage I think and great at breaking parts at 3U. Now, power bows are better overall.

On Stamina Cats: I think they are primarily useful if you are a more stamina intense weapon, like dual blades. If you don't use a lot of stamina, the primary use of them is to force monster's stamina down.

Not sure how much I like my good old greatsword in the new one :T  I guess the old infinite stationary up-down combo wasn't exactly the kind of playstyle they intended for the greatsword but I still miss it.

Longsword is still an option for bigass swords but the longsword seems to have some negative connotations.  I don't want to be that nard.

Switchaxe has a bigass sword.

Today I intentionally launched someone at a monster to do a jumping attack with my CB's Axe mode X attack. Felt so good. It's the only attack that CB has that can send people flying. The rest kinda just knock people down if they aren't doing something.

At the end of the hunt I threw the same person off a cliff into the next area.

Well, there's bad ways of using every weapon; even the SnS can be disruptive. I'd say go for it though, just bear in mind not to mash R when you're fighting a small monster and there's other melee combatants out. If they go for the head of a big monster, go for the tail. Plus since it no longer recharges like it used to, there's less a reason to fade slash compared to 3u, and that cuts down on feeling that you have to be that guy.

If you get into Guild Quests, be aware that they get extremely nasty at the top end. As far as I know Lv140 is the highest it goes and it must be some sort of nightmare to all but the best of vets. I have been leveling a Teostra GQ for the past few days. After lv130 things became rather brutal and every level added felt like it was making things much harder, then past 135 the difference between levels was huge, or at least felt like it because Teo was just so nasty already by that point. Today I spent 9-10 hours throwing group after group of randoms at Lv137 Teo to finally beat him a few minutes ago.

I wonder how many more randoms the Teoster will burn before I get him to 140...

Man, I wish I'd known you could download the game.  It'll probably come Tuesday and I'm real sad about that.  USPS is terrible, they don't update tracking at all.
