CF players (still available)
If you'd like to oppose B-1-2 the rewards will likely be greater than playing as a hero if the heroes lose. You are signing up to be a "challenging force", you might not actually control a person, you might be in control of predatory wildife for example[or an ally that needs to be protected or escorted].

Feb 15th: Experts are called in for a highly classified and urgent mission

Mission Writers:
To enhance the focus on discovery, we will not be using stargate film or television canon at all. This is a story about a military group that obtains stargate tech, and assembles a team to go in. That's it. Subsequent missions will be a response to previous ones. If you have a world or story you'd like to bring to life, pm me and run it by me, I'll see if I can arrange gameplay for it :)

Is this a RP? Just wondering, but either way, I'll sign up for the challenging force.

RP or not I'm inclined to creating games with structured play, so tactics and strategy will be rewarded modalities of engagement.

Shouldn't there be biologists, geologists, archeologists, and a fuckton of other scientists?

Yeah, I think at least a biologist should be added.

Sounds good to me, thanks for your suggestion. This is a very rushed mission under suboptimal conditions. I will allow players to play as scientists. Tell me what you want to be the focus of your career. I may deny some specialties.

Why exactly would it be a rushed mission?

Irl, if something like this happened, it would he a meticulously planned mission with a massive military and scientific backing.

What's the reason for the rush?

So give a reason for the mission being rushed.

Irl, there would be mechanical probings first, a massive backing from multiple countries militaries, as well as the majority of the scientific community, and a huuuuuuge military garrison.

Sign up or read the post mission report. This is an urgent mission, join the frontline or the sidelines, I really don't care. Now if you'll excuse me doctor.

The show has the thing completely restricted in Cheyenne mountain by the US government for the first few seasons, then later the Russians come in after they activate a second, then a recap around six or seven brings in France, Britain, and China, then around the end of seven or eight all countries in the Antarctic are clued in.  Scientific community is not involved much, and, due to the secrecy, the garrisons are limited.

As for why it is rushed, we could be going in to relieve a SG team currently under fire, or assisting a group of natives in some endeavor where time is required.  We also could be going in to free a captured SG team.

Edit: As teams are groups of four, possibly five, in most instances, might want to have several teams if this gets enough interest.

May want to add a full out sign-up sheet to the OP.

Edit2: Can you change me over to Marine: Commander?  I believe my knowledge of the universe would be best used there.

By the way, is the challenging force going to be Wraith, Go'uld (Jaffa, as Go'uld aren't on the front lines), Ori, Replicators, or something else?
