It's probably worth mentioning that AnimaRytak is the only ecstatic dwarf in the entire fort.
Quick, check him for rum! The bastard's probably spirited some off to his lair office, to act as pleasant refreshment as his evil scheme unfolds!

While I obviously prefer my own Slaughterheim, Slaughterpalace actually works ingame, so I support Anima's name.

Heiterverzweiflung. Not a legit German word so much as something a friend and I made up in German class once. "Carefree despair". When life is so fucked that you can't stop laughing.

I was going to go with Slaughterhelm. It rolls off the tongue and is fairly descriptive. Also, I'm going to be running the thing. We had a vote and I won.

I love the idea, but I still think the name should be slaughterheim

to me it rolls off the tongue just as well. and what could be more descriptive (and fitting for deathgate 3) than "land of slaughter"

Is Slaughterheim can be done, I'd vote for Slaughterheim.
If it can't, then Slaughterpalace, definitely~

all it would take is adding the word "hiem" to the language files......(I think slaughter is already in there)

that makes we wonder...what would the dwarf word for hiem be?

The word is spelled H E I M, for one. After that, while Deathgate and Murdermachines both had an appropriate in-game thing for the name, how would we make a Helm of Slaughter? Though of course the Place of Slaughter is just really generic. Hmm. Slaughterpalace does work, though it doesn't really sound as cool. Meh.

how would we make a Helm of Slaughter?
I have a few ideas.
A minecart shotgun that shoots helms, for example. A single helm, better an artifact one, and lets see how many kills it get.
Or make the aboveground fortress in the shape of Darth Vader's helm.
Or mod in the natural attack when a dwarf uses his head to bump his enemy. And helms with horns.

Slaughterhelm sounds more dwarfy than halls or palace.

Did you know that the Russian word for "sock" is "no sock"?
I just saw a guy with two broken legs push a minecart with a corpse in it. Yeah.

K. I'll set one up once it's more clearly explained what we're voting on exactly. ( I think I've been awake for over 28 hours now... I have no idea what I'm even doing... Only that there's things I need to do before sleeping which I'm totally not doing because I'm here. In other words, business as usual for me. I have to register for classes... but I can't brain enough to think about how to schedule right now... Might do the sensible thing and go nap before making such vital decisions. )

EDIT: But I have mastered escaping finger traps. So, time not totally wasted today.

That I can get behind.
Frankly we'll probably be too busy burning to death in Forgotten Beast juices to build a palace anyhow.
