Why didn't you increase the world height so we can build up 100 layers above the ground?

Why is the embark site 1x1?

Why is the mine being smoothed?

Why is the mine outside of the tower?

Why is everything made of wood?

Embark site is 3x3, I figured we could dig down to make the tower well enough and DFHack has a command to increase sky levels, mine was smoothed because why the hell not, it's outside of the tower because I said so, and THAT'S NOT WOOD THAT'S STONE BLOCKS AT LEAST SCROLL OVER THE TOWER FOR IT'S BUILDING MATERIALS.[/grumpitude]

Turns out it's the dwarves what are being oppressed.

Journal of Zanzetkuken, Year 211 Overseer for the Oppression Tower

Granite 1, 211

I have recently been passed the mantle of Fortress Overseer from my predecessor.  Now to change everything I don't like.  First and foremost, replacing every wall in the fort with something that doesn't look like wo-

...

First order of business done.  Next order of buisness, set up a mine inside the building so we can immediately ship people down into it.  Make sure it is deep enough to hit non-wood stone.  Then build a farm that is sourced from the reservoir, which is hooked up to the river.  Maybe build a drain into the caverns over that massive pit.

Oppressed cheese is the best cheese.
"Cheese darling, you are not going out in those clothes!"
"Screw you daddy, I do what I want!"
"Go to your room!"
"How could you! I'M BEING OPPRESSED!"
Then everyone eats the delicious cheese flesh.

I honestly didn't think this would get quite so much interest in it so quickly, particularly since the concept migrated up from the Lower Boards.

I know Zanzet edited it out, but mastahcheese, apparently you're followed onto the map by a reindeer.  That reminds me of your old personal text.

How fitting.
I am pleased by this.

Granite 5, 211

I've rectified the situation of not having a smelter when we have iron ore.  This came to my attention after I found out we only have one miner, and only a single pickaxe.

Granite 9, 211

Oh great.  Elves.

Slate 8, 211

Been a long time since I last messaged.  Been working on constructing dozens of pickaxes after I built the array.

Might want to switch over to constructing armor.  Outfitting Maxcat would be a good idea.

In other news, I got a farm set up.

Slate 12, 211

The Nope Reservoir has been completed.

Elves left too.

Slate 21, 211

I decree all walls will be granite and the floors diorite or Gabbro!

Slate 28, 211

Some new migrants have arrived.  Leading them in is a cheesemaker that names themself 'Mastahcheese', as well as 'Gamedragon', and 'Flame' as well as some other schmucks, and, immediately behind Mastahcheese, a stray reindeer.  A few are sent to the military, while the rest get sent to the mines or will be constructing the walls.

Felsite 4, 211

Reports say there is a giant mosquito in the area.  Things could be getting dicy soon..

In other news, I've ordered several new mason workshops built.

How fitting.
I am pleased by this.

Just a matter of enabling the 'milker' labor.  I should mention the Reindeer's currently a stray, your pet is a kitten that came in after it.

Well masthas avatar is a cat (head, sometimes), he relates to reindeer previously in his little sentence, and his name has cheese in it.
It's a tri fecta!
