Yeah, a lot of the Skalewyrm's shenanigans are partially explained in its initial rant, which I recommend you attempt to decipher. If enough of you can't understand what the shit it was talking about, I'll translate.

After panicing for a moment being so close to both being swallowed by some sort of evil and being passively cooked by proximity to the skalewyrm, The stranger would calm down. he would take in the magnificent beast with a mixture of surprise and awe, studying it's features and such as best as he can with only his eyes.

The Skalewyrm seems to be calming down, its torso and neck cooling from yellow to reddish orange, its serrated wings folding.  The creature is, while quite small compared to the shattered remnants of the Diamond Beast, still heaped around the shattered former pillar, immense, at least twenty meters long, with wafer-thin blade-wings extending twice that to either side. It still shouldn't be able to fly, but with a giant feathered lizard made of living steel, physics apparently have had too much to drink already. Except that they are not feathers, being seemingly articulated, and made of sawblades. The being's triangular head lowers to roughly face level, and peers around with strange, almost mechanical-looking eyes, searching for something.

Encountering the necromancer, the thing opens its mouth slightly, revealing many, many rows of counter-rotating triangular teeth. It cocks its head to one side, which motion allows a thin stream of molten ferrous drool to spatter onto the ground.

It seems to be considering something.

{Gah, not my finest work, the wording feels weird, but I've had far too little sleep to find and solve my own errors, which, given my normal propensity for such things, is probably an important thing to take note of.}
