Anyone else wondered for years what the heck Olms were?

I know I did!  I figured they were some obscure monster that Toady invented, maybe some kind of squat fungus-like creature with moss growing all over it.

Turns out a) They aren't a monster, and b) They're not squat fungus-like creatures covered in moss.

They're cave-dwelling salamanders!

Well, I wondered for about a day and then I wiki'd it. Also, you can look at creature descriptions in game (I don't remember the keys right now, but you can :P)

I have a habit to search everything I don't know.
So no. Once I saw what it was named in my native language, I knew what it was.

The perfect pet. It lives up to 100 years and needs to be fed in every 10th year.  :D
