You are an influential and very rich person, one of 100 richest people on the world. A business magnate maybe, or a crime lord, politician, royalty, banker? Doesn't matter. You gained riches on your own ways, and faced financial hardships, but with help of powerful man you survived and flourished even. Now life is good, you have money. You have power.

Your evening/morning/meeting/traveling or what ever you were doing at the time, is rudely interrupted when you suddenly find yourself being entirely somewhere else. You are in a small room with few other. You have been here before.

The Room

The room is decorated with expensive antique furniture and some very valuable paintings and other art. You recognize the room because of those pieces of art, in particular that one you gifted to owner of this room. In this room you find few other well dressed men and women who are looking around with equal suprise. You recognize some of them. The circle of powerful people on top of world is not very big after all.

Your attention is bought to glowing multi colored sphere, size of basket ball, hovering in midair. It constantly changes colors and patterns in rather hypnotic manner. It is highly unusual item, one you have never seen before, and certainly not style of owner of this room. Then you move your gaze down on the man below the sphere, The Oracle.

The Oracle

The Oracle, by real name Mihael Andersson, is well known amongst richest people, but completely unknown to those below. His fame comes from his unbeatable business sense which he uses only to help people in middle of their financial crisis. Of course he requests rather big payment for his service, but it is always well worth it. You know this because you used his guidance during your hardships.

He is older man, sporting stylish suit, silvery hair and van dyke style beard. He is sitting on a lavish chair, and looking you in completely serious manner.

"Greetings. I offer my deepest apologies for such sudden and unusual invitation, but I had to act as soon as I knew what to do. Please, do take a seat. We have much to discuss."

The Game

This borrows title from TV Trope Apocalypse How. Read it and you'll have a fair idea of what to expect. Remember to come back, because that site will steal your soul.

Two major phases here are talking and preparation.
In talking phase you'll mostly talk with each other of how to tackle the problem.
In preparation phase you use your resources and influence to do things you believe are best for survival of mankind. Or survival of your power.


Money is quite important and useful depending on how you use it. Investing extra money on a task grants you roll bonus from table of 19 different bonus type depending how much you invest. Roll bonuses start from simple elimination of critical failure and end in automatic overshoot. How much money is needed to get specific level of bonus, you ask? The answer is "I don't know". I decide that case by case. Too little and you don't get any bonus. Too much and you end up with overshoot.

Try to avoid bankruptcy before the end comes.

   +Model-building: When he was too young to yet begin learning the family business, Herwald occupied his idle hours assembling ships and aircraft from premade sets. As he aged and grew into his birthright the hobby vanished behind closed doors in his private estate, but escalated as well. Herwald often worked his way through difficult problems drawing up and working from plans for kitbashes as a way of abstracting his stress.
   +Pilot: A long-standing tradition is for the most competent scion of the line, in addition to inheriting the businesses, to master the skills of piloting the ships they produce. He holds an unlimited-weight all-waters U.S. Merchant Marine Captain's license. It consumed a slightly excessive amount of time in the decades of his relative youth, but tradition is tradition.

    +Herwald Rasmussen I was originally a magnate who operated a series of highly successful foundries. Now, the company has expanded to the procurement and refining of a wide range of industrial materials, though they have not yet stepped into the waters of energy production or extraction of fuels.     +Herwald II found an opportunity in the sub-par products of many of the shipbuilders he provided for, and expanded into that field with remarkable profitability, as many of the essential products could be provided at below market price by his own companies. Shipbuilding.
Location of head office: Main office in Boston. Strong secondary office retained in London.

* Name: Codeine Ogudi Korir. He usually skips the Codeine part, though not as frequently now as he did back when he had much more to fear from other people.

* Personal traits: Ogudi is rather well-read on a variety of subjects, both scientific and otherwise, and he seems unusually quick with both his hands and his pitches, both apparently stemming from a less than glorious adolescence and early young adulthood spent in Kiberi (the rags to riches tale that keeps on growing in elaborate detail, some of his colleagues have said in the past).

* Company name: the Equatorial Foods Corporation
* Business: the EFC is definitely the biggest agrobusiness outfit in Kenya, owning about 20% of its farmland directly and another 40% indirectly (through the holdings of its most prominent members, chief among which is Korir himself with his vast tracts of land in the Kenyan Highlands). It's brought quite a revolution to the changing Kenyan economy, and essentially controls the supply of tea and coffee, two major exports, all the while expanding into some of the more stable regions of Africa outside of Korir's homeland. And now, as times are rapidly changing, Equatorial Foods is also one of the strongest adopters of many types of agricultural biotech and local investors in biotechnological research, less due to its immediate financial considerations and more due to Korir's sincere belief that biotech (particularly biotech crops) is indeed the way of the future, and that there is much to be gained from it.

     + Brainwashing: It is well known among the company's inner circle that brainwashing techniques are a core component of Mr. Snuggles, Inc. products.  What is not known is that the latest Mr. Snuggles himself engineered this method.  The enigmatic Mr. Snuggles is sometimes able to make people do things that they don't want to do, without them realizing it until it is far too late.
     + Sword martial arts: the macabre rituals involved in the company's day to day business have lead all Mr. Snuggles, Inc. employees to become expert sword wielders, and the company's titular head is no exception.  In fact, Mr. Snuggles has brought his favorite ritual katana to this very meeting.

+ Meticulous- Priya is known to fuss over the littlest things, which also gives her an eye for detail, and observance, which means that she may see things that others mostly overlook.
+ Caring- Priya often projects the image of a concerned matron, and to some extent, truly is that, being a well known philanthropist, giving money away to organisations that mainly focus on girls' education, and sustainable living.

* Business:
+ Kitchen appliances- Dharma Inc. mainly focuses on making traditional rustic-style stoves, but with a twist, making it out of biodegradable materials, to make it sustainable. They also make non-stick pans. However, they have only recently ventured out into this.
+ Pharmaceuticals- Dharma Inc's flagship business is Pharmaceuticals, and they specialise in making painkillers, and sleeping pills. They also own a small chain of drugstores, named the D Store.

    * Personal traits: Ever since a young age, Jeff has been very charismatic, talking with adults as comfortably as he would with children. While in college, he met Bob Philroy, who was majoring in electrical engineering and business. He was planning on founding a company, and he asked Jeff to become his CEO. Jeff accepted, and the company was founded. 5 years ago, Bob mysteriously disappeared, and Jeff took over the business. He has sense expanded into other parts of the computer, and has plans to start making his own high powered computers.

It's end of the world and you make teddy bears? Seriously speaking Mr Snuggles won't make it into the game if more players are posting sheets. Sure, it's delightfully hilarious, but I'm not seeing it being very helpful before last phase.

Despite of what you see in first post this is very mundane world with very mundane people and companies. For now.

Now that I have more time to read each sheet I can properly give some feedback.

You two have rather skeletal character and company, but otherwise ok.

* Business: Kitchen appliances, Pharmaceuticals, and beauty products.

Technically that's three business sources, but I suppose pharmaceuticals and beauty products counts as one.

It's lots of land indeed, but no problemo.

This is really stretching definition of 2 business. Mining and Refining goes as one, sure, but shipbuilding and aeronautics... Those two do not have that much common in my opinion. Choose either: 1) limited range of products in both or 2) only one with full range of products.
