I kinda like the idea of Merkan as well. Maybe we can play as them in another game?

Quote
Slaves: and unable to get onto ships unless someone make them free.
Uh what? And they're like, on a ship, right now.
Yeah, and then there's the fact that IRL literally all slaves got from their homeland to their new "homes" via ship...

f. Emanuel, a carpenter

If we're going the religion route, let's make one that makes us look like a bunch of xenocidal, genocidal, manifest destiny dicks rather than some primitives who perform live sacrifices.

When the eighth gods created the world they populated it with plants and beasts and all the mortal races that they might be sustained through the consumption of their souls after death. The eighth and youngest of the gods, Orus, was disgusted by this arrangement he was forced to take part in and so split his body into many parts to create humans, hiding his remaining self on Earth somewhere that he may later return. As humanity as a whole is a god, their souls are not consumed and are instead reincarnated.

Now, holy humanity must conquer the world and strengthen their race so they may strengthen their god and ultimately become masters of the other gods. Non-humans worship their evil gods and allow themselves to be eaten willingly out of their primitive ignorance and so must be eradicated that their masters may be starved. Alternatively, they must serve humanity fully and worship Orus as their one true god that they may earn his grace and be reincarnated as human after death.

All fanfics are heresy, each and every one, especially the shipping ones. Those are by far the worst.

When I'm saying that they are "not free", I mean they are legally bound to stay in the colonies.

I operate on the rule of three.

Also I need to know whether we move along or make landfall here?

+1 to carpenter, not sure if we need to make a religion if we're not getting a priest pal...

Carpenter - 2
Priest - 1

South - 1
North - 0
Landfall now - 0

Emanuel, a carpenter

It might be a unusual choice of a trusted aide, but at the end of the day, a skilled carpenter is always someone handy to have by your side. Besides keeping the ship in the best condition possible, he can also help the colony grow by speeding up building of wooden structures.

Pre-landing phase 3
(Week 1, May, Overcast)

You travel south for a week and soon reached an area with a few islands. The islands are small and quite mountainous; the weather is noticeably warmer, and is also reflected in the more thriving wildlife in the area. Despite the favourable condition for life, there is little sign of civilized kinds.
As a curiosity, there is a smoking mountain on one of the islands.
On the mainland side, its another story. The area is awfully low-lying and swampy, but despite this you saw signs of smoke and fire - this might be indicative of some civilization, or not.

From here you can spend another week to explore either the islands or the mainland for a place to make landfall. You can also travel north or south on board along the coastline (on the main continent). The wind is still blowing from the north.

North

If there are mountains here and hills north, then even further north is probably flat.

Also if you are going to travel north twice you are moving against the wind.

Oh and you still have not make up your mind on your name...

Swamp isn't a good place to conduct agriculture and it would be best to set up before we interact with any natives.

Going north is still an option, right?

Tonio for name.

We already know where the target civilisations are, we're going north to look for land to settle - arable land, specifically. The islands are all mountainous.
