Custom ammunition materials & hunters

I've modded in custom obsidian ammunition to give my hunters something to play with other than bone (which doesn't seem to be able to break the skin right now) but now i've run up against a separate issue: there seems to be no way to allocate stone ammunition to my hunters//set them to use any bolts other than my metal combat-reserved ones.

is the material list in the military screen hardcoded, or is it editible somewhere/somehow?

There is no way to do that, besides assigning these manually with "specific ammo". Stone ammo is not supported.

You can make a copy of INORGANIC:OBSIDIAN , call it OBSIDIAN_AMMO and change it from STONE_TEMPLATE to METAL_TEMPLATE and use that. It is not a nice solution, but it works.

once he does that he could just set the products material to the obsidian that uses the metal template. instead of "get_material_from_reagent"

that's actually not a bad solution. Thanks. Would i need to regen to implement a whole new stone (or rather, metal) type?

Yes. If you add something new, you will need to regen.

Altering things that already exist usually don't need regens.
