Should a new Quest be generated every time a new embark is built? Tie results in a "no".

Yes - all those "open quests" would make the game more fun
No - Just when a Player's relic lands on one of the six Islands of Questing.

Sorry about the disappearance... I went to visit grandparents. I wasn't aware until moments before they arrived that this was going to occur. Put me on the turn list again under whomever.

No worries - I've already got the World (re)created in DF2014, and have revamped the shrine/temple system to be in-game rooms created with specific requirements, so we won't have to mod the game files themselves.  The good news is that I've done some !!Science!! in a pocket world and DF2012 doesn't have any problems with any artifacts being moved from one site to another. (Not to mention, that retiring the fortress now doesn't need DFHack shenanigans, so that bit's much easier too.)  I've discovered that if each Player chooses a different dwarven civ, that there's none of this "just hiked over from the Pirate Island" nonsense either, so that's cool too.

I'll be re-posting the game in a new topic soonish, once other stuff in life stops being so urgent, but never fear - the game WILL start up soon enough, and hopefully it'll be easier to play it this time.

As soon as the temples aren't buggy, I'm totally taking this off the back-burner for a revisit!

I would join if my Dwarf Fortress didn't freeze every time I tried to play adventure mode. :D

No worries man.  It's called an "Alpha" for a reason.

This seems fun. I'd join if people stopped bothering me to do stuff with them.

Not sure if dying of old age is an honor or a shame for weaponmasters. On the one hand, it means they never got the opportunity to die in glorious battle. On the other hand, it means nothing could beat them in glorious battle.
Meow.

Temples and Taverns are coming up next release, which should make this a much better opportunity for success.  I'm also excited to note that Meph's Masterwork Mod is slowly making its way into 40.24 mode, so that could be an interesting mode as well.

It's three months later and I'm still waiting for the new update, but in the mean time, I'll just be setting up my play-by-post adventure using this map.  I'll have to regen it anew once the update comes along, but at least we'll be able to have a bit of fun in this "twilight" world.

Also: Who here remembers Walrus Bob and Terragaminia?

I'll be setting up the Dwarfopoly game using Lairs instead of Islands - The first forty Lairs listed in Legend's mode under "sites" will become the playing board, and embarks that create Monastaries, Shrines, Temples and the like will be embarked right on top of those lairs.  I have a new map all set up just for this purpose, it should be fun.
