Thought I'd start this thread to see how Dwarf Fortress has affected other aspects of your gaming or your life as a whole.

I'll kick us off.

You know you've been playing too much Dwarf Fortress when you can't figure out how to conscript villagers for the militia in Terraria.

You keep trying to hit the remapped numpad keybinds despite having reactivated mousekeys when you last shut the game down.

You find yourself trying to hit your gm-editor keybind when a webpage is loading slow or isn't updated yet or some event you were following didn't turn out satisfyingly. "What? They only won by three points? This game (football) needs more magma, more random aerial excursions, and better weaponry."

Your girlfriend asks you "how's dem dorfs?" periodically thoughout the day.

You have more than one incident in which you've been dreaming and it turned into gm-editor windows and stayed that way the rest of the dream.

You've been up tweaking your personal mods and such for... what day is this now?

You refer to things on fire as !!Things!!.

I have confused many people by absent-mindedly doing that.

You draw huge battle scenes in Art class, only to realise other people can't read ASCII graphics.

You keep overestimating other games, usually by trying to throw everything and wrestle people.

You're disappointed by the fact that you cannot rip body parts off with your mouth and then proceed to hit your enemy with said body part in other games. :c

I love this community. Somebody asks "hay guise how do i tame shark", and then everybody is like "why don't we fling sharks at things with complex mechanical devices?".

The purple overseer hat weights heavily on one's head. Some would argue that the leadership of Doomforest is uneasy to bear for too long. Others would simply suggest that we don't craft the next overseer hat out of rutile.

You begin to use "what would Urist do" as a legitimate way of problem solving.

((No, I haven't gotten to this point yet))

You have dreams about desperately trying to stop a tantrum spiral.
