Strange Soil Layers (Reborn)
« on: May 04, 2015, 04:28:12 pm »

Every world I generate ends up with really weird soil layers. These layers are "eerie smoke" or "drowsiness". They go down 2 or 3 levels then I usually hit clay and brick layers. This brick may be odd as well, or a new occurrence in DF2014 but I am positive I should not be digging through these walls of smoke or drowsiness.

Update: I got a fresh download of V0.006 and it seems that I have my soils back. I do not even understand what happened. I must have broke something when I tried to fix some files.

When you change tilesets peat gets duplicated.  Remove the peat entry in inorganic_stone_soil.txt in your raw files and regenerate your world and it should fix itself.

Yeah, looks like your raws got wonked up.
On a side note, eerie smoke and drowsyness and other such boulders instantly turn to gas on being created and are used as reaction products.

Yeah, mining it did not seem to leave much behind. Just had to put everything back to how it was originally.
