/s I would assume that a goblin fortress isn't much of a farm, yes. /s

Heiterverzweiflung. Not a legit German word so much as something a friend and I made up in German class once. "Carefree despair". When life is so fucked that you can't stop laughing.

Huh, I missed that one as well.
I bet looking for that one dwarf will be like a DF version of Where's Waldo.
Still, kind of eerie. I wonder what happened there that left only one person alive.

I was searching for a tower which might lead me to the dwarf. The first day I didn't see any. The second day I used stonesense to try to find one. First stonesense was laggy as hell (not my computer's fault, it's a beast), then it caused the game itself to crash. This isn't the first time this has happened. What in the hell is wrong with the latest version of stonesense?

Your settings might be set weird, hard to explain them but go into the readme in the folder and look at what the settings do, the comments in the init file for it also help a lot.

I have mostly default settings. The settings have edited were edited with the knowledge of what they were changing.

The default size for how much is shown can be too much for some systems, I know I decreased the size of the map block it loads, and there was something else it mentioned for improving loading speed I think?

13th of Slate 175
After a much needed break from adventuring, I heard rumors about a site of dark pits named Playplague (Lungosnodub) where only a single dwarf lives. The strangeness of the place lured me to leave the very day I heard of its existence. I wandered the entire day in search of the dwarf or any major structure in which he might reside.

21st of Slate 175
I had searched Playplague for about a week now to no avail. I returned to my throne at Ravenallied a little disappointed. I presume that the dwarf hides for a reason: maybe he is locked in chains for the safety of all, a cursed prisoner of the goblins who killed the inhabitants of Playplague or caused them to flee in terror. I convinced myself it was for the better that I had not made contact with the dwarf of the dark pits.

28th of Slate 175
After a week of humdrum daily life, I was informed by one of my followers that strange stories coming from the north suggested the presence of undead. I packed my bags and immediately went off in search of northerly folks who could shed more light on the rumors being told in Ravenallied. Somewhere in the Gleeful Hills, I came upon a few elderly men who told me that they too were headed towards the place of rumor. However, they refused to tell me the name or location of the weird happenings. They told me that they were members of an ancient priesthood which was devoted to protecting the living from the dead and undead. The old men were full of ancient tales of marvelous and unusual events. We set up camp for the night just south of Partneredseduced (Smuksmumamxu).

I wonder if that one guy would have been hostile.
Also, setting up camp south of a dark fortress seems like a way to get yourself killed by goblin patrols. Just saying.

The dwarf would have been interesting to find, but he is probably justn a silly settler who decided a goblin pit was a great home for a single dwarf.  I am across the river from the goblins and, quite frankly, goblins are super wimpy in this version of the game (they run if they see a non-goblin shadow).

I have never been able to find the inhabitants of goblin pits, much less one specific person. I'm not surprised.

I'm reading the hell out of this. A really cool idea (enforced by the fact that races are no longer super-hostile to each other).
