This is a conversion play by post game of XCOM: Enemy Unknown/Within with the Long War mod.

There will be two levels of play here:
Strategic play: in the XCOM base anyone can vote on various matters such as Research, Engineering, air combat, etc, like you would in a suggestion game, directing the XCOM resources to save the Earth.
Tactical play: once a field mission is launched, players who signed up as soldiers and got picked for the mission are deployed in a map where they have to fulfill the objectives following a turn based tactical combat system. Those lucky to survive and be promoted can choose their specialties, progressions, etc.

To sign up as players, all you need to post is a name, nationality and optionally a backstory. When you get picked for a mission you will be asked to pick your equipment (more on this coming soon), and when you get promoted you will be able to pick a class and stat progressions.

To start the game, the first thing to be voted is the base location. You can see a list of locations and possible bonuses here. Pick a country and one of its possible bonuses.

Base Location: United Kingdom. Bonus: Special Air Service.

At the start of the game, 25 players will be available as soldiers, but more players will be able to get in the waitlist and enter the game once more soldiers are hired. Players who died can rejoin, but with a new character and reduced priority in the waitlist.

I'm actually gonna have to +1 this, as well. +5 Aim on all our soldiers is like a free laser sight for everyone. More aim means better chances of confirmed kills, which is especially important for our rookies early on, since we're gonna need to level up a lot of our soldiers really fast. Of course, grenades will be useful for getting such kills, as well.
