Anyways, back to the topic on hand.

Nice story.  Love your style Threetoe.  Your characters have real motivation, real humanity.

As for DF hmmm... cults, marriages, ceremonies, and evil entities all sound like a blast!

Cultist cancels summon Dark Lord: Being eaten by Dark Lord.

Princess cancels marriage: interrupted by assassin.
Assassin cancels interrupt marriage: beaten to death by princess.

If this story was in the game, which mode would it be played in

I think the idea is that this event could happen on it's own from time to time but probably not very likely to happen... and definately very low chance in your fort unless you fill it up with dark altars or something.  More likely for you to find it happening as an adventurer since you could seek it out... whether you are the bard, the king, the queen, one of the guests, or a cultist.  Although it would be quite a rare event to run into... but just the fact that it could happen would be purely awesome.

It would be so awesome to summon a dark lord and then one of your old adventurers shows up because he heard some rumors and kicks your butt and then fights the dark lord to the death!

Actually, if you were to make a great adventurer, and then retire him in a civ near where you start a fortress, that adventurer CAN come along in a seige.

And in adventure mode you can find goods that you traded away from a fortress in the towns of civ's you traded with.  And I think the kobolds steal some of your coins after the fortress is abandoned or too deeped for a while.

that was great.  i especially liked the biscuit talisman.  and when the king pulled out that scepter, im probably not the only one who was thinking "oh yeah, artifact item damage multiplier!"

looks like a new form of demon, too.  a squid demon instead of the regular tentacle demon.  since the kindom was a costal one, this suggests that demons have favored biomes, just like other animals.

Well, hopefully and from what I understand, there will be many new modes added. And greater depth to the adventure mode might let you play a bard. Or become a princess.

Anyways great story.
