I don't know much about the technicals of CPU usage and so on.  Are these reports suggesting that because CPU usage doesn't peak, that it's artificially limiting the frame rate to very low numbers due to a bug?  It does attempt to limit to 100FPS.  Maybe there is some kind of problem.  I assumed a slow down would just come from all of the new calculations which need to be optimized.  If that were the issue, would the CPU cap at 100% (or 50% depending on all this weird dual stuff)?

Yeah, there's something odd going on.  When I turn all the limiters off I get 135 FPS on a starting map and 400 when it is paused, and when I limit it, it limits to 60 FPS instead of 100.  Also, when I load one with 90 dwarves, it runs at 28 FPS -- but 45 with the limiter off.  In addition, once I turn the limiter off, disabling temperature and weather didn't cause a noticeable difference in the 45.  Not sure whaaat's going on at this point.
