Aaaaand he made a backpack. Dammit.
Forbid the backpack in the leatherworks and return to claim it as an adventurer. That is a fine backpack.

Actually, the clothesmaker made a backpack. I was reading the wrong artifact. Why won't my smiths go into moods... I have a leatherworker, a clothesmaker, and a pair of miner moods. No crafters or smiths.

A trumpet. Not sure how a leather trumpet works.

Very carefully.

Raremanors has been retired, and with it, I have no idea what to do. An adventurer found that in the two weeks to follow, at least one resident left the settlement. I'd rather not have Raremanors emptied out by building a new fort, but...

A trumpet. Not sure how a leather trumpet works.
You should definitely collect that as an adventurer and become the best bard there is.

As to how it would work, it shouldn't be impossible. Highly polished on the inside and treated to be very rigid.

It would sound terrible. :D

Too bad it's made of Roc leather and not donkey leather.
(because then it would be an ass leather trumpet)

Rivertrapped has been besieged for half a year now. Losses are piling up in true Empire style as my crossbowmen spit towards the safety of walls and sturdy battlements and jump down to be killed ( I dont know how or where they climb, as they just appear on top of wall which has a floor over it and jump down). Goblins return the favor, climb up and get butchered (unless they manage to kill some of my jerk crossbowmen first).

Odds were slightly on my side as a minotaur appeared. It rushed towards goblins that were trying to climb my wall, and then rest of the Famous Suicide Crossbow Squad 3 enters the field. Luckily minotaur managed to kill some goblins too before collapsing of exhaustion and getting killed.

War giant tiger was a real pussy. It got a hit to its 4th toe by goblin lasher, it gave in to pain and was butchered.

Year Three of the Grizzly Breeding Program.

All five Legendary Swordsdorfs now have two war grizzlies each while there are three breeding females are kept down in the safety of the Golden Vault. The Duchess has a female war bear of her own because she is awesome, demands nothing and smelts all my ore.

Two War Dogs became stressed. I have begun butchering war dogs in order to begin replacing them with new War Giant Bobcats.

And in the grand finale of the Giant Animal Breeding Camp, The goblin POW encampment has been constructed. If they flee my trainees, they will have to path past my guard: four war Giant Barn Owls.

Also, The Emu chicks have hatched. The time of the Turkey is at an end.

The only problem right now if my Manager, who was instrumental in training all of these animals into stable domestic populations, can't seem to train the recently captured Cave Crocodile  past Semi-Wild.

Nope, it's an artifact, they're always of the highest quality.
So it would have been some quality Ass.  XD

Give it time, your civilization needs to gain more knowledge on the animal first. It seems you're breaking new ground for your civ's endeavour to train crocodiles.

Nevermind all of the dwarves that I have carefully groomed for smith moods, some random child goes into a mood and now I'll have the first useless object produced in my fort thus far. (Unless you count low boots as useless, which they are in my book, but w/e.)

Retiring this world, starting a new one. Nice place, but it just doesn't feel right.
