A forgotten beast has appeared
It is made of flame, is bloated, and has large mandibles

It's at the bottom of a pit so I have no idea if I can get to it or if it can get to us
Is your mountain home called Moria by any chance? The expeditions from there always dig too deep and unearth the hidden flame.

A miner was caught in a cave-in and was wounded badly.
There's no water source so I dug into the cavern to get him some water.
Unfortunte for him, the chief medical dorf was attending party, and the well was not finished in time so he got infections.

Maybe there were too many stones in one tile, because I had not seen a cave-in in 10 years.

So I used dfhack to dump all the stones. It also looks better now.

An evil region reanimated water buffalo bull corpse just ended a 30 strong goblin siege for me, single-handed.

The baroness created an artifact blowgun...
Maybe I should give it to a swordsdorf.

My first werebeast for my new fort has come, a werelizard. It transformed into human form not long after... and ran straight into my fort to my meeting zone where a quickly organized militia killed it. Its title was "The Bewildering Nut".

Would I be able to kill the beast by dumping water one it?
It's at the bottom of a pit, could I just get my dwarves to attempt to use the nearby river in the cavern to 'fill it'/dump water on the beast?

That's a nice idea for a sauna but it won't kill it. You could throw some garbage down and the impact will probably kill it since fire isn't known for it's strength.

How would I get them to throw garbage down?
Put a refuse pile along the edge of the pit?
The water wouldn't damage it at all?

Create a zone, designate it as a garbage dump and then when you designate an object for dumping with d b d dwarves will take it there. If the tile they take it to is beside open space they throw the object down the hole.

You put it on the ledge but they throw it over.

What about dumping some stones or other heavy objects on it if it is directly under the pit hole?

I actually don't know where it is now

I can only see a few tiles at the bottom of the pit (I guess the pit is deep enough that most of the bottom is too far away for my dwarves to see)
So I was just planning on dumping water on it...
I've got plenty of stones that I could dump on it, I'm also a bit worried if another cave bat appears because they have a nasty habbit of injuring and killing my dwarves. And they usualy spawn out of the pit

What's the artifact's name?
