Went to an old v.34.11 fort of mine and took a look around. God, the nine years of working on that fort had made it so disorganized compared to my forts now, but what really startled me was the descriptions I got on some of the artifacts. One was just an absolutely plain cedar cup decorated with cedar, but there was also this native silver ring, encrusted with oval cut shorls, decorated with mahogany and wolf bone, encircled with bands of more mahogany, emu leather, and more schorls (these single-cut ones), along with hanging rings of more native silver, and somehow depicting the image of an earlier adamantium chain artifact in reindeer bone.

How the heck do you fit all that on a ring, or does 'ring' in this instance mean 'waist ring', because I could potentially see it on something as big as a belt...made of solid metal...

Yeah, even elite dorfs have problem against undead.

You're gonna want a stronger material than copper if you want to take on undead.
Also a setup that allows you to split them into more manageable groups helps immensely.

Good news is, the berserk lunatic killed the elk bird than had been goring everyone. Bad news, we still have the lunatic and five or six rutherers wandering around.

Oh, and my noble screen isn't functioning. Which means I can't make squads, since the manager died a while ago.

I'm testing a new design. It's a 4 z deep open pit with a little building covering the stairs down into the fort. When one lever is pulled the pit fills with water and when another is pulled it drains.

Members of my fortress's military are beginning to reach and surpass Expert in their weapon skill.
On a side note, I sent the macedwarves and speardwarves to deal with some blood men. It was a massacre; no blood man survived, no soldier was harmed.

EDIT: A forgotten beast with fire breath came.
Let's hope the local wildlife can deal with it.

No idea what is happening in my fort. I would guess the fireball hurling cave crocodile forgotten beast is gnawing on the bones of the dwarves.

That beast killed my military, all 8 of them in bismuth bronze. Four hammerlords and 4 mediocre speardorfs. Then it proceeded to kill every last one of the others.

I could have waited it out, as I had my mayor in his own private warren walled in, as he changed to a werebison come full moon. But I didn't want to, so I let him try to attack the beast.

Just had a random section of the cavern collapse in an unexplored area.
Couldn't find anything about that on the bug tracker.
That's odd.

Must be the thing that's breathing fire.
On a related note, a charcoal humanoid with webs also came.
I hope that the fire-breather takes it down, since fire can be reflected with shields.

It could just be that your only depot is inaccessible to all traders.

A small child punched my expedition leader in the brain. This is my fourth reclaim with invaders off and we've never gotten so far as building bedrooms. The site is cursed, I swear. (Hitting the caverns didn't help.)
