Curse it, another moody dwarf demanding shells!...

...But frankly I do not care much for a possessed farmer.

I have unintentionally created an automated mega-deathtrap.  I feel all warm and fuzzy now.

Do you have a map saved? Sounds awesome.

Toady typically doesn't do things by half measures.  As evidenced by turning "make hauling work better" into "implement mine carts with physics".
There are many issues with this statement.

I have a stonesense image of it after I made some modifications to try to maximize the effect.

I can also provide the save on DFFD, but it's pretty heavily modded, and throws a few errorlog errors that I'm too lazy to fix.

EDIT: DFMA http://mkv25.net/dfma/map-8830-whitecastle  Fraid I couldn't get Points of interest working though.  Map seems to default to directly below the main gate.

End of the first year of my first proper .31 fort I started. Still need to get my farms set up, although that will have to wait until the next rain shower (it's a hot map, and the muddy pool had dried up by the time I got my irrigation set up). The fort can subsist off of collected plants for a while, I'd assume.

good luck with that one. you'll need it. a lot of it. like, say, snow demons. if they're all snow demons you have a chance. a small one albeit but a chance.

If they're all inorganics, have axes and large stone slabs at the ready.

I just finished modding all my non-economic, non-gem, non-soil inorganic stones into "skull." I plan to defend my next fort mainly with catapults.

EDIT: My first embark has layers of Skull, Skull, Skull, Skull, Marble, Skull, Skull and Skull.

Economics were left alone. I did change <spoiler> to "Unknown material," though.
