Let's SIM a CITY: 1 WEEK CHALLENGE *sign ups* 4/5
« on: August 28, 2016, 09:32:03 pm »

Okay I'm going to totally reboot and revamp my old idea, and this should be more fun.

The goal is to get to 20,000 population, before 7 days after the start of the game. Beyond that it's just for bragging rights.

What you need to know:
1. This is the sign up and conversation thread so we're not playing yet.
2. In the game thread you will start out by making a post to claim a plot of land.
3. You will use the tools designate it as residential, industrial, or commercial zone.
4. Once enough players sign up we will vote for mayor.
5. The mayor can offer you government buildings the benefit you and those close by you.
6. On your plot of land you can build your types of buildings and increase your population or job opportunities and you'll exchange employees and jobs with local zones.
7. There are disasters but all they do is slow down your construction times. There's nothing that will subtract from your post. Likewise you cannot fire people from your zone or have them quit a job at a place after assigning them.
8. Anything else you need to know you can see in the thread or ask here.

So I'm trying to take this down to as small as I can make it and seeing if if I can make a fun city game to entertain for a whole week. Thanks for trying it out.

Make it known if you're running for mayor.

I wish to sign up how Do we play
When we start; you will choose a Zone. I, R, or C: industrial, residential, or commercial.

Residential is where people live in homes and apartments, as a player for this zone you will be trying to maximize the population in your zone and improve their happiness with the help of things like parks and making sure they're fully employed.

As an industrial player, your zone is where you make factories to make and assemble things. You will ship finish things to commercial zones to be sold. You can focus on just small parts or make a whole assembly line of a more valuable item.

Commercial you will sell products from industrial zones. This includes small shops like grocery stores, so food is an actual product and that would come from a farm industrial zone, more complicated products like video game consoles(0h wait, Dwarf Fortress Community I mean PCS). Commercial will buy things that go together(sell well together not actually assemble) from various Industries.

I'm going to let the mayor design where zones are positioned, and if you get to choose your own zone or not.

So suggesting a plan or making use of someone else's is a good platform for your campaign if you plan to run. A little hint this being a population race I strongly suggest no other type out numbers residential.
