I am hoping the extra large armor ends up being as annoying as I imagine it would be in adventurer mode, but I gotta go with the troll because of the name/nobody else did one. If I could art I'd draw a trollface with tusks.

Bark Scorpion Man? Okay, here's King Tuticane, an Egyptian king who was bit by a scorpion and turned half man, half scorpion. Good luck to everyone (you're gonna need it)!

Unraveller, put this in your hack/scripts directory as changename.lua, and add "keybinding add Ctrl-N@dwarfmode/LookAround changename" to your dfhack.ini file. This makes the logs much nicer. In the arena mode you can use Ctrl-N in "k-mode" or "v-mode" (basically when you have a selected) to rename them.

It still sometimes say "The NAME stands up", but I'm not sure if that can be fixed. It's probably the job title that usually goes there.

Code: ("changename.lua") [Select]
local dlg=require 'gui.dialogs'

local unit = dfhack.gui.getSelectedUnit(true)

if unit == nil then
  qerror('No unit selected :-(')
end

function setName(unit, name)
   unit.name.first_name = name
   unit.name.has_name = true
end

dlg.showInputPrompt(
  'Rename Unit',
'Enter a new name for the unit:', COLOR_GREEN,
  unit.name.first_name,
  curry(setName, unit)
)

Interesting approach, I may borrow some of that for the names script I'm working on actually, I've got it where it will pull up the adventurer creation name selection screen and atm I've just got a simple toggle so I can set the name of an artifact or a unit, totally forgot you could do the name prompt like that though... yes, my brain bubbles.

Would another go be out of line? If not, I'd take another stab at this.

Nothing wrong with re-entry, welcome Rovod!

Lumash Zatidar

Welcome aboard, did I mention gremlins are my favorite? Not that you'll get points for it. You're gonna wish you kept those boots!

Varick the Flighty Undying

Why do I bother making a format for applications if no one follows it? Welcome back Varick!

Bark Scorpion Man? Okay, here's King Tuticane, an Egyptian king who was bit by a scorpion and turned half man, half scorpion. Good luck to everyone (you're gonna need it)!

Welcome back _italics_ our first champion's manager! I think they'll keep 280 due to their small size. Oh and thanks for the naming thingy ma-jig, makes it a ton more intimate!

Oops, I messed up my testing a bit, making my bark guy superstrong. I think I need to change something. :D

Originally I wanted to try the Serpent Man, so I'm going back to that. Keeping the name though!

Serpent Man (250 points)

No equipment
[Skills]
Accomplished Biter (10) 220 points

Because I'm a shit, that's why. :P I'll write it out in the proper format, I was half asleep and had a terrible headache when I put it together, haha.

You did it for me, thanks and I'm sorry. I'll remember not to make forms when I'm dying from migraines in the future.

The suffering is necessary!

And going to a slippery little serpent huh _italics_? But, uh, where in the ini do I put the "keybinding add Ctrl-N@dwarfmode/LookAround changename"?

I think you can put it pretty much anywhere, but I with the other lines that has to do with rename.
Code: [Select]
# gui/rename script - rename units and buildings
keybinding add Ctrl-Shift-N gui/rename
keybinding add Ctrl-Shift-T "gui/rename unit-profession"
keybinding add Ctrl-N@dwarfmode/LookAround changename

I'm pretty sure the other lines comes from the Newbie Pack.

Yeah, I don't have that, I suppose I'll stick it randomly until it works.

Probably just me, but wherever I place it, I receive syntax errors and it does not work. Maybe upload your ini?

You're putting it in "dfhack.init"? Not some other .ini file, right?

Anyway, here's mine in all its glory. My only change is adding that line:

Ha ha! Alrighty everyone, I don't believe I see anything wrong. This'll be the beginning of a new great and bloody arena! But where are all the awesome titles! Ah well.

For those of you just joining us, in effort to save some time on my part and be consistent. I'd like for this very simple format to be adhered to.

-GLADIATOR NAME- managed by YOUR NAME
RACE & POINTS
[Equipment]

[Skills]

POINTS LEFT

Thank ya!

Unlike everyone else, who's strategy was "Pick the biggest thing" I decided to have a more cunning combatant.
All I hear is 'squeak squeak, I'm tiny & delicious, please hug me'.

And that's exactly what they thought last tourney, but then a Kobold won.

Does that mean I should redo mine?

I hope I set this up right! I really want in on this fun community happening. Also, is it fine that I use the same points (250) as the serpent man, since I'm venomous and have a tail instead of legs? I figure we're about the same character, just a little different. If I need to be knocked down for anything Unraveller, I'll change my stuff in a heartbeat, just lemme know! If everything is good, I'd like to say that I speak for all animal people advocates and subterranean lovers when I say that filthy day walkers will remember why they fear the dark!

Also, I had no idea animal people with tails could wear greaves until I played around in arena mode this morning for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised because I thought my tail would be a super easy target. Hurray!

-Setro of the Wicked Moon- managed by The Enigmatic L
(Albino) Black Mamba man
250 points
[Equipment]
Bronze Helmet (24)
Bronze Breastplate (40)
Bronze Greaves (36)
Bronze Gauntlets (16)
(116/270)
[Skills]
Novice Striking (4)
Adequate Fighting (9)
Skilled Dodge (50)
Proficient Armor (30)
Proficient Biter (60)
(153/270)
POINTS LEFT = 1 (269/270)

EDIT: Got more points, gentle mans. My character is ready to jam.
