PSO Blue Burst: Ultima (Private Server)

So, anyone up for some old-fashioned SEGA Smackout? Could use the company really. If interested, yeah poke down here:

Before you go to register though, be sure to drop by on the Section ID Calculator. It determines what kind of drop you'll receive and therefore which ones should drop for you 90% of the damn time.

For those who don't know what the eff I'm talking about, here have a Wikipedia Page.

Yeah, it is. AFAIK SCTHACK server is mostly dead, if it isn't already. This Pvt. server has the most players atm.

Holy heck, I am in such a Phantasy Star phase right now.
I've been going through the lore of the original 4 games, and was left pining for the good old action of playing this on the gamecube.

Last time I tried to get into PSO:BB it failed miserably though, how tough is the setup process here?

IIRC this thing has an installer that pretty much installs everything you need to run it "out of the box".

Registration's iffy, but I can't quite remember how it exactly went. All in all, quite simple.

Ultima was always completely dead when I last played on it, but with schthack being down for the past half month it seems to have picked up. Not sure if people will stay once/if schthack comes back up.

Always enjoyed legit/vanilla servers more than either, though.

EDIT: And by legit/vanilla I mean no balance changes or new quests or anything. Probably a nostalgia thing, to be fair.

I'm not quite sure what you mean, but if you mean if all section IDs drop the same thing, well I don't think so. Much character switcheroo to be had.

Double checking the charts on PSOWorld and Ultima, they seem to be the same.

Level 30 in the first day, I'm pretty happy with that.

Though, I do hope some more people join in, because otherwise I'm going to regret choosing the squishiest character possible.

It might also be worth mentioning the control layout, as it took me nearly 30 minutes to work out that space was the chat button. Heh.

I may have gotten a friend interested, which I'm pretty happy about.
I've also been thinking of making a new character, but right now I'm still really happy playing Force, so I can't imagine I'd have much time to play Hunter or Ranger.
