What's the G stand for? :P  I am posting from my new hole in the wall elegant Fortress, seemed like a good opportunity to give Constructivory a final influx of necromancy before it is truly dead and gone.  Speaking of which, somebody should poke Bearskie with a stick.

Now now, we're all civilized people here, no need to go poking each other with sticks. Though I probably deserved tha- ow! Back from my hiatus, tidied the front page and all, took some nice pictures.

Spoiler: Cathedral (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Ghost Maze (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Cheese Wheel (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Goblin Hideout (click to show/hide)

Ran out of draw distance a long time ago for Armok Vision, haha. You can't see the ground anymore without some tweaking. At the last count, we're standing at z+60 tall.

Overseership is currently open to anyone who wishes to stamp their mark on this tower! The bigger and more complex this tower gets, the better really :D. Build anything you want - a giant arena, statue, mini-towers, your legacy, etc. All the while lording over a minorly goblin-traumatized population on the verge of rioting, but eh... details.

So, any takers?

TheImmortalRyukan takes a grab of the overseership

*Ryukan drops his sack of jewels and runs for Mcbarskys office, grabs the overseer scroll and begins babbling madly about a city in the clouds.*

This is going to be a VERY ambitious project, I respectfully ask for two years and three RL weeks (just to be safe, I will settle for just two).

*Looks around at the other assembled dwarves of the tower*

"Well, its not as though we have an option. Yer pretty much the only person that doesn't flat out run away when i bring up the word 'overseership'. Keys to the tower are by the door, and by goodness, make sure we don't run dry on booze this time. Last time that happened we almost threw the foreman off the tower."

"There's just something unavoidable about insane laughter and towers, isn't there..." grumbled Bearskie under his breath. "Now before you go all Dark Lord on us, there's been a name change request from one of the dorfs in the tower. Handle that first..."

Requesting to be dwarfed as anyone the current/next overseer sees fit, since I hate to just PTW.

"...then you can start building your Lair."

I'm thinking a Palace.

Then I, with bearskies consent, dig to the circus and watch as we try to survive...

Or we can just do the first option, though I would enjoy both...

Would I say it is a shame? Hell naw. I mean, Constructivory, not the fort ending.

This is the first time in DF that I have been struck by fear of heights from the images (mental thoughts: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa)

So, thank you for this novel experience, and setting new benchmarks for "impossible" at times °v°

A fortress that found a clue to a mystery that still haunts me, for the very reason I registered on these forums was my dwarves getting killed by stationary minecarts dozen tiles away!

Incidentally, did you ever figure the causes of that out? The weaponization potential...

This shall not die like this.
We must take the last save.
And end it, properly.
We must dig the supports.
LET THE BELL RING... One more time...

LET THE BELL RING... One more time...

On it, may Japa be crushed,
The church fall,
and may Bearskie's Bell sound out

(I'll post pictures of me computer after it commits suicide)

Any idea on the stationary minecart trap, Ryukan?

SO I HEARD YOU NEED OVERSEERS

Ryukan can still take as long as he wants, though. I'm patient.
