Dodge it and cut off his head. Use the same spell as last time. Put 10 Essence into max Speed and 8 Essence into min Speed. Put 12 Essence into max Dexterity and 9 Essence into min Dexterity. Put 1 Essence into min Strength.
Again eh? Well that spell fails, unsurprisingly. You roll 17 in speed for reaction, so you got him there. His dex roll was 7 and you can't even roll that low so you dodge his blow, lets see if you can hit him. Your dex goes from 1-4 to 10-16. You get a 13. He might still technically dodge that. Lets see...3. Oooh, nope. Well lets see how he rolls on resilience...1. Ouch. Ok, and now your strength, which goes up to 2-6...4. I think thats good enough.
Dumbo spins on his heel, turning to face Andres. He drags his fist across the blood on his face, like striking a match against the box, and the blood leaps from his cheek and onto his knuckles, transforming into a fluid electricity that enshrouds his hand. He takes a swing and Andres' head, but Andres, in a single smooth movement, steps to the side and swings his blade up. The sword catches Dumbo squarely in the throat and cleaves cleanly through, severing his head from his shoulders in a spray of luminous red blood. The gore coats the astroturf and the head rolls out onto the road, where it is immediately crushed by a passing monowheel.
Ok Dumbo, thats 120 essence lost there. It will take you 3 turns (ie, lose on 1, spend 2-4 regen'ing, have it on 5) to get your head back. Till then you blind and deaf.
By the way, you guys are keeping track of your own essence right?
