5x5 "Barely Legible" tileset
« on: August 30, 2015, 03:46:57 am »

So I was just sitting around one evening and was struck by a mood.

I give to you....

Ambrosia's "Barely Legible" tileset!!

As you can see it's very small, but I've tested it a bit and it works perfectly in game, if you squint you can even read the text! :P
It is very much a WIP though, this is my first tileset and any constructive criticism is very welcome..

Here are some screenshots:

At the moment there are a few things that I know need tweaking/fixing, like the bins and barrels are all black, but if you spot anything else that you think needs a bit of tweaking just let me know ;D

Nice, the 1x1 and 2x2 ones that I've seen were more of a goof but t his is actually usable, well done.

Thanks, I took the 1x1 sorts of tilesets as a sort of inspiration but wanted something usable... but only just :P

8x8 or 9x9 might be more useful? At least you could read the text properly.

I suppose that'd be easier on the eyes but I made this one to be mostly illegible, 5x5 is the smallest I could make it while still keeping in stuff like the two-lined walls, etc.
It's in no way meant to be a 'proper' tileset but it's usable, you just have to look really close ;)

This reminds me of the kind of cramming you'd see on 8-bit machines that didn't have enough screen real estate for the author's vision.  One quibble: the 'w' needs to go one pixel to the right.  Otherwise fantastic job!

Just use TrueType mode if you insist on reading :)

Hmm... 1920/5 = ...

384x216? I think that should do a good job of eliminating scrolling, but it may be had to tell what's going on :)
