Buying leather feels rather cheatey

I have noticed that cloth will go from anywhere between 300 Dwarfbucks to upwards of 850, whereas a bin of assorted leathers (including chitin & scale) only ever costs 60 ???  This makes creating a full suit of Chitin armor for everyone incredibly easy.  So I've stopped purchasing leather in Masterwork, for the same reason I don't trade prepared meals.  Are there any items you don't buy b/c it feels too easy?

Not particularly, I currently have over 15k prepared hides and I've never purchased any from a caravan.
