The Illustrated Dwarf
« on: September 11, 2015, 05:58:04 pm »

This is an idea I have been kicking around for a while.  Actually, not really kicking around since ideas are abstract things, but figuratively speaking, I have been kicking it around.  It started at least a year and a half or so ago when I decided to do some dwarf fortress illustrations to entertain my kids.  And for my own amusement as well.  After leaving it off for a while, restarting, losing half the work, finding it again, and then moving, the first part is done.  I call it:

The Illustrated Dwarf:  A Spotter's Guide: Book One

I tried to put a few more colons in there but I am not sure how.

So, with no further ado, enclosed please find:  The Illustrated Dwarf.

Chapter One:  What is a DwarfHonestly, do you really need a link?  It's on the same page.  Just how lazy are you people anyway?

Chapter Two:  Proud to be Green Yeah, there's, like, lots of cool heroic stuff here.  Never mind those bearded propagandists.

Chapter Three:  Awww, Yeah!  Shit's getting real! C'mon.  Admit it.  This is what everyone wants to see.

Chapter Four:  Underground Cuisinart This is the place where the madness flows.  And the magma.  Don't forget the magma.

Interlude:  Famous Dwarf Tales and Legends

The Legendary WandererDid I say "Wanderer"?  I meant "wambler".

Interlude 2:  How to keep amused

Dwarven Humour Now, no one likes a good laugh more than I do. . . except perhaps my wife, before she was eaten by a carp, and some of her friends.  And Sargeant Urist. . .

I like the art type. The cross hatch looks neat.

Definition refined.

Edited to add:  I think the update schedule is going to be Mondays and Fridays.  I ran into some issues relating to scanning-the originals are too large for my scanner.  I have a four chapters of varying length.  The first is complete.  The rest need to be painted.  I also have what I call a Dwarf Tale for the end.  The guilty parties know who they are, and I would ask that it not be spoiled.

I would swear I've seen your work somewhere before... or artwork done in a similar style to yours.

Regardless, this is a very awesome project you've embarked on and I look forward to seeing more of it!
