Any case, news in passing said three dead so far, millions without power. Didn't hear anything about general damage and whatnot, but I can't imagine it's anything good. Poor Louisiana.

Worth noting that while "iota" has come to be a synonym for a small, insignificant thing, Hurricane Iota is now a Category 5 storm which is targeted to strike Guatemala and Honduras and do catastrophic damage in the next 12-24 hours.

It's the 2021 hurricane season and tropical storm claudette appears to be aiming straight for it, likely bringing along 20+ inches of rain.

Let's, uh. Hope this isn't the start of a continuation of every gulf hurricane hitting Louisiana. I don't even live there, but damn, give a state a break, y'know?

It's raining, people. Flood alerts across most of the panhandle, flooding likely to follow the storm north, possibly as far as bloody new york. Been raining steady and mostly intensifying for the last six hours or so, where I'm at.

We're getting a bit of rain from the outer rain bands here in South Carolina.  Pretty heavy when it is raining, but surprisingly spotty based on what I'm seeing on the weather radar.  I'm sure we'll be getting more of it soon.
