Punch and kick it until it gets off-balance, then grab it from behind and smash its face into the wall repeatedly.
Do /three/ Back flips into the middle of the ring, then lunge at the zombie, putting his sorry ass on his back, flip him over and use him as a bullet shield.
Quick, Hammer time.
Hammer that zombie against the wall with your fists, until it looks like you painted it red (The wall that is).
Rip out one of the arm bones of the zombies and stab it with the bone.
Just kick it in the leg. If we break the leg this will be a piece of cake.

Right then, the soldiers with the crossbows decided to start shooting, they must have forgotten that you were supposed to be the one to kill the zombie. You do three back flips to dodge the incoming missiles, an kick the zombie in the chin each time your legs come around. You then lunge at him, punching and kicking him until you break his leg and he falls. You pick him up by his head and use his body to intercept several crossbow bolts heading your way. You  then shove him into the wall of the cage, rip out a bone from his arm and impale him all the way through, lodging the bone into a gap in the wall, pinning him to the wall. You smash his face into the cage wall several times, and punch his face for good measure. When he finally stops moving, the wall is painted dark red with pieces of his body.
The crowd becomes silent. Evidently, nobody else was this efficient at killing a zombie in hand-to-hand combat. But they are also wary of you because of your actions earlier. Joab orders some men to raise you back up the tube and out of the cage. He then has some men chain your hands together and escorts you to his office. Joab's residence is extremely luxurious, no doubt his high position enables him to afford them. There were performers in the entrance playing soothing music, and there were a multitude of servants doing several jobs around the house. Joab sits in a couch and you are set in a chair. He then asks, "What was the meaning of your actions in the arena?" You explain as best as you can that you know nothing about the Erbium religion, and that you were only repeating what one of the priests said. After much discussion, Joab believes you enough to release you into the military.
Your first days in the military are pretty miserable. The took great pleasure in the training and drills, but the other men and women were wary of you because of your actions in the arena. It would take alot to gain their trust. As the days pass, you get trained in a whole manner of weapons: Crossbow, Spear, Flamethrower, etc. But the weapons that you were most skillful in were the scimitar and the knife, the weapons you escaped with. Aaron chose to work with the scribes and teachers. You know that he will fit in well there, he had always been an excellent speaker. However, apart from chance meetings across the city, you two got little chance to talk to each other. Unfortunately, the lack of anybody else to talk you really brought your will down. You don't think anything less than a heroic showing in battle would bring some social life back to you. Quite coincidentally, right at the moment you were thinking this, a Sentry sounds the alarm and announces that a large army was headed towards the city. You dash up to the top of the wall and see the force yourself. There are 5 large trucks holding probably 50 soldiers each, one large truck designed to carry fuel for all of the vehicles, maybe 6 flatbeds with siege weapons mounted on top, and probably a 20 or so small cars each armored and menacing with spikes. They are probably equipped with a whole manner of ranged weapons as well. You grab a crossbow from a nearby rack and take aim. You take a quick moment to decide what to shoot at.

Instead of merely blowing up the fuel truck immediately, run to the nearest non-fire-based antisiege emplacement, then convince the operators to fire on the fuel truck. If we can get the flammable volatiles inside aerosolized with the surrounding air, the resulting thermobaric explosion will be even more destructive.

Alternatively, we could rappel off the wall and steal the truck full of priceless useful burny things.

If we are going to take loots, we need to do it right. Shoot the tire out on one of the artillery trucks, that will cause maximum chaos for minimal explosive damage. The vehicle will lose control, and probably take out another artillery truck or some of the smaller vehicles.

Once the explosion of a godly proportion has occurred, run straight into the battle field, war screaming and all, and begin murdering and dodging the hail of bullets, we escape the field only swathed with two bullets to one kidney.

in this world, gunpowder is extremely rare. Bullets are not an issue. Flamethrowers are though.

You fire with your comrades as part of an organized volley. Most of the others seem to have an idea about exploding the gasoline truck, but none of the bolts can pierce the metal cylinders containing the volatile liquid. Meanwhile, the enemy's siege weapons began hurling large metal balls towards the city's metal walls. The wall lurched and buckled with every impact. The cities defensive catapults were hurling balls back at the flatbeds, and a few of the trucks were destroyed. However, you suddenly stop and think... why was the gasoline truck even coming close enough to be damaged? It could have easily stayed back with only a few soldiers to defend it from zombies. The gasoline truck suddenly roars and picks up speed, heading straight for the wall. It was planning to ram the wall and explode. You turn to a nearby catapult operator and tell him to destroy the truck before it explodes at the wall, the operator understands and quickly orders his men to turn the massive machine. You however, throw down your unloaded crossbow and grab two new ones from the rack. These ones were already loaded. You toss both of the high into the air over the wall, you then grab a grappling wire from a pile on the floor and throw it towards where the truck will be. You get a running jump off of the wall, and time seems to slow to a crawl.
In midair, you grab one of the crossbows from the ground and fire it at the front-left tire of the truck. The grappling hook and the bolt hit at almost the same time. The grappling hook slams into the front windshield with enough force to crack the reinforced glass in front of the driver. It then slides down the window and hooks firmly into the hood of the truck. The bolt, using it's launch speed combined with the high speed you were moving forwards with, punctures the tire all the way through, and the tire explodes. The truck lurches to the left and pulls on the grappling hook, which was firmly attached to the wall. The wire becomes taut and you use your left hand to grab and slide down the wire. The truck was now going sideways relative to the wall, but being pulled in a semi-circle that would eventually force it to crash into the wall. However, the truck did completely crush 2 of the cars and damage one of the flatbeds. While sliding down the rope, you grab the second crossbow that you threw into the air and aim it right at the weakened part of the windshield, right in front of the driver. The driver was so distracted with his blown out tire that he doesn't notice you until you had already fired the bolt. Again, the bolt used your own forward momentum to have enough force to penetrate a small hole in the windshield, and it still had enough energy to impale the driver through his right eye and into the chair. You were really close to the hood of the truck now, so you let go of the zipline and tuck into a roll to preserve your momentum. You roll once along the hood of the truck (which was very bent now from the grapple) and slam into the window with all of your energy. The window shatters and in one fluid motion, you roll into the driver's seat. It was at that moment that the catapult projectile slammed into the cylinder's on the back of the truck.
The truck itself finally broke free of the grapple, because the entire hood got ripped off, but the truck began to roll over and under. The gasoline in the tanks was now a fine mist above the battlefield one flaming projectile would set off a large explosion. Your truck continued rolling until it slammed into one of the siege flatbeds. Together, the collision generated enough heat to ignite the aerosolized gasoline, which had just achieved the perfect fuel-to-air ratio. The resulting explosion completely removed the cab of the truck from the chassis and sent the cab, with you in it, flying up and off. The remaining Erbium siege equipment were destroyed, but the wall, which had been strained by several impacts and the grapple, finally gave way from the force of the explosion. The Erbium troop carriers now moved in and released their foot soldiers. There were probably around 200-300 of them. They were all heading for the breach. You are still in the cab, which is flying tens of meters in the air. You lost your scimitar sometime in that mess, but you still have your knife and empty pistol.

well, since we are flying in the air in the cab of a truck, buckle up and hope to god we don't get seriously injured. chances are that is going to come down on some very unlucky soldiers, and the exploded truck will have sprayed napalm everywhere from any liquid fuel still in the tank.
That should block their advance temporarily unless they have heatproof suits and respirators.

after we stop moving, get out and start stabbing people in the back, being careful to silence them with your mouth, and plunge it into the back of their spine. it's slightly less bloody than slitting their throats, but requires a bit more force to the blow.

How convenient: it is going to rain metal, use our force powers to push the silly metal towars the troopers, then land,  get out and high five one of the local Erbium troopers.

You look around for some sort of harness, and see the belt buckle unlatched on the side. Ha! The truck driver didn't buckle in for the trip. He obviously deserved to die for his negligence! You strap yourself in and watch through the many holes in the cab. The remaining fuel in the tanks was being sprayed everywhere as a form of napalm, which temporarily halted the enemies advance, but many of the soldiers were wearing fire retarding suits and marched right through it. It turns out that these soldiers wielded flamethrowers themselves and were making a wall of death straight into the breach. You brace as the cab lands right on top of a mass of the Erbium soldiers. Your seat belt saved you from any major injures, but the same could not be said for the soldiers crushed by the mass of twisted metal that you rode in.
You wait until the whole army had passed before coming out of the cab. You kill as many of them silently by plunging your knife into their necks, but eventually someone notices. He turns to face you. You are about to kill him when you suddenly recognize him. "Potiphar?!" You say surprised. "You survived!" Potiphar exclaims, "Did the other one make it here too?" You wonder if he is trying to trick you into letting your guard down. After all, he was your slave master before you escaped. But he was one of the kindest master in the Erbium city you lived in. You don't have much time to think. Some other soldiers would no doubt notice you soon.

Don't answer him, and don't engage unless he blatantly tries to kill us. We need to focus on stopping the invasion.
There were some in flame retardant suits with flamethrowers? Maybe we should try looting around a bit. Set fire to the masses.

You mostly ignore Potiphar, but you do say, "yes he did." You grab a flamethrower from a fallen soldier and put the heavy backpack on. You let out a spray of fire into the attacking crowd from behind. Most of them were carrying large shields to protract from fire to the front, but your surprise attack from behind killed a large chunk of the army. Some of the flame soldiers turn towards you, and they aim at you. You don't have any fire protection. Potiphar had fallen to the ground and looked like he was pretending to be dead.
