Yippie, not dying is great.

Now, I would suggest following the brook for a while. Food is likely to grow near it, and people are likely to settle by it.
Plus you will have access to water while you travel it. Brooks and streams like these are the life blood of any wasteland.

Maybe try tree singing on that palm to make a useful tool. Maybe a simple stave could be of use, or perhaps a wooden helm to protect from sun and savage.
All statements seconded. For the tree-singing, I'd like to recommend a wooden hat. We're in a desert; it's hot, and anything that keeps the sun out of our eyes is good.
+1
But be careful in case honeymeat comes back.

I may be biased, but I gotta say the decision to go to sprites is a solid choice u_u

It makes things easier to draw to be honest since you can use and reuse sprites and backgrounds multiple times. Also, it means less trouble with proportions once you have created the outlines for various character groups. I believe you know that already since your own comic is far superior to mine in terms of art quality/picture resolution/writing/everything. Also, experience.

Although I also went for this to have some kind of fresh start since I've been missing for, like, a year.

Run after the honeybadger to try and become friends with it.

Can we do both?

EDIT: tree-sung badger saddle
we will have a riding badger

EDITEDAGAIN: Guys, this is 100% a roll-to-dodge game (the rules detailed there are not hard-and-fast; they are flexible for maximum fun and plot)

I actively dislike the plan of hunting down an animal that was injured and fled. Honeymeat won't just be angry, Honeymeat will be fearful.

That's fair.

If we encounter Honeymeat again by chance, maybe we can work something out, but no active pursuance.

Operation treesong, however, is a go. Yes?

As stated before: we should make a wide-brimmed hat. No use having masterwork swords or armor if we're too exhausted from heat and dehydration by the time we can use them.

To be honest, I don't really enjoy animal abuse. Of course, it would have been cool to have such a companion, but let's face it: I have tried to befriend it two time so far, and it didn't end well. Let's give it some time to lick wounds before we give it another shot, shall we?

As for that tree-singing idea... I'm a bit rusty, but why not. It does require quite some energy though.

O, mighty tree... In the name of Romimi, give me your strength... I have to fight darkness here... All I need to archieve victory is fancy headgear...

It worked!... Not that I expected such results. Huh, looks pretty enough, I guess?

Huh... Of course! Wide-brimmed hat, that's what I needed!

Why didn't you tell me that earlier, one of the voices in my head? You could have spared me a ton of efforts! Now I'm stuck here with this... Frilly garbage! Ugh!

Well, I guess I'll have to do with that now. Let's get back to business.

It is true that most of the villages here tend to stick to water pools of some kind. Unless we're talking about magic elf villages.

...Do you see what I am seeing? A small town in the distance!

I presumed a helm would act as a hat. A wooden hat would act as a helm as well.
Maybe just add something to hang on the unicorn horn. Some cloth to the back of the neck and that should do.

I would also suggest heading to the town and act diplomatically. Keep a lookout of any dogs or people that require help.

Pegacorn hat is things and stuff. Yes, try to add brim, if possible.

Diplomacy is always a good thing. Use it.

Walk in as if it is nothing out of the ordinary. Keep money wherever you were already keeping it. Observe the area and try to identify any important details regarding the town, and try to figure out where to go based on that information.
