Babys and Volcanos

I found my first volcano.  My dwarves are outbreeding the cats!  Do the volcanos do something to make them more fertile and randy?

Yeah, the reason they're breeding so fast is probably because they fully expect some sacrificing to take place. Build a nice temple at the top.

Maybe you got lucky. Dwarven babies are useful in a few years when they grow up into adults. They've already got decent social skills, maybe a legendary craft skill. No migrant wave with useless skills to train out of them.

If you don't want kids, alter the baby/child cap in the init file.

So you have two options here. One, experiment extensively with a deliberate injury that is most likely to cause gelding. Two is to chuck them into a volcano.

Anyone that suggests changing the population cap is clearly forgetting that there are only two options, not three.
