As stated in the title, I'm wondering where you find the files to replace when you make a tileset.

On a semi-related note, is it better to make 128x128 or 64x64 images?

df/data/art has the tilesets, df/raw/graphics is where graphics sets will be, I've been doing 32x48 and 36x54 mostly when rescaling square sets and making them more awesome and rectangular, since there are many 16x16 and 18x18 sets to work with, those sizes work well for 24x24 upscales too.

With a 32x48 you need a 2560x1200 or something monitor to view it at full-size. If you let df downscale it then it generally doesn't do the best job of it.

Okay, thanks. :)

I'll probably play around with a few different sizes for one or two of the more common titles before I can decide on a look, but at least this way I can figure out how specific the game allows you to get (I know you can't make differences in Gender [or "Caste"] for example).

I ran into that problem with my avatar, it's actually the adventurer tile I made for the Curses+1 set. At 24x36 (what the game scales 32x48 down to automatically on a 1920x1080 screen) I can just make out the @ symbol monocle, but if I draw it natively at 24x36 it doesn't look the same because there aren't enough pixels.

Gotta play with what the eye will interpret correctly and such, but I'm not an artist so you probably know that better than I do.

Oh yeah, this: http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/Character_table and this: http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/Character_set

For the tile number and what all they are used for, is super handy for when you want to know exactly what you'll be changing.
