Prosperous Stars - The Wealth of Space
« on: November 29, 2015, 01:54:37 am »

On the fringes of Galactic Space is a recently settle system classified as as Zeta-987X-8I, or better known as the Blackmartyr System. Though its considered recently settled the sole inhabited planet recognized by the Galactic Council has existed for well over two hundred years, but was only recently excepted as a protectorate of Union of Mankind. Blackmartyr has been settled for over two centuries, but of the six planets and their satellites only two have been truly explored or exploited.

Lying within the Goldylocks Zone is the inhabited planet of Calmar, and it lies alone within what is considered the inner ring of the Blackmartyr system. heading away from the sun is the Red Belt, a dense asteroid belt which seperates Calmar from the rest of the system, which is the reason for Calmar's acceptance as a protectorate.

With the system beginning to go into a new Industrial Revolution due to an influx of funds and settlers from the Union of Mankind the flourishing space industries have allowed thousands of Calmar citizens to achieve better futures. Among those lucky citizens are six individuals brought together to crew a newly obtained vessel for the Macnameer Corporation, one of the up and coming space corps whose welath comes from the Red Belts numerous mines.

Will these individuals find a new, better life in space, or will the harsh reality of Galactic Space catch up to them?

I'll post a sheet later; calling the ship's muscle. (In other words, probably going for Hardy and CQC as my skills.)

I would be interested in posting a sheet; I'm not sure what as, yet.

Edit: considered first a shooty type but that's probably of limited value, especially as sercon has the non-ship combat covered. Thought briefly about a doctory or piloty type, but then probably think I'd prefer to go for the gruff bearded engineery type with the repair and logistics skills. Unless anyone else would have that covered.

You could still be a shooty type. Rapid Reload and Marksman aren't taken AFAIK.

Name: Tobias Trent
Gender: Male
Skills: Basic Repairman, Starting Inventor

Ship Vote: Salvage

Bio: Tobias was born to a colony that nestled, buried in the rock of a moon orbiting a hot jupiter-class gas giant. Life was not easy - the colony did not produce enough compared to other, more productive competitors, and suffered an economic downturn. The inhabitants were forced to repair, rebuild, and combine every piece of scrap they could to get by. It was this enivoroment that produced Tobias - a young man, tall from too little grav and thin from too little food. Still, he has an inventors mind, and a knack for repairing what should be completely broken. His eyes are cybernetic, dully glowing green, after one of his inventions detonated bright enough to permanently destroy his eyes.

Tobiases (Tobaisi?) have a hard life.

I guess that's what I get for not reading the other sheets carefully enough. I guess I'll change it.

Yeah, sorry. I would change it but if I did I would be compelled to play female, and if I do that then with this skill set I might as well just be playing Dom from Dev-22 again. ^^^;

Tiruin: Your sheet is looking pretty good, and both of your self made skills are good so now you just need to settle on which pair :)

lawastooshort: Your sheet looks good, disgraced space cops are always an excellent way to go. As for Awareness it can be +2 to Search and Spot related rolls, or +1 to Search & Spot Rolls and +1 to initiative assuming that's what you want.

GiglameshDespair: Double Tobias, I approve. Now you guys just need to accidentally look exactly like each other, and mess with people :v

Well, one's tall and thin with cybernetic eyes and the other is average size with a multitude of scars. I don't think people will confuse their looks much. :P
